  1. we were out lamping one night and i couldnt get over a electric fence because hadnt long had hip operation so the boys put their foot on fence for me to step over i was half way over and it came on top they left the fence go and it got me in the goolies feck me didnt i jump that fence .another night lamping a feild with bullocks in the next part of feild separated with sheep wire anyway they charged down the feild straight through the fence and dragged the fence posts and all straight at us one of the scariest moments ever .a funny moment last season was we were doing pest control on long ears
  2. scholes will be in utd folklore for ever tremendous talent as all the top footballers throughout the world agree. trying to compare gerrard or lampard to him is a joke .scholsy was the man the daddy of them all for a decade .and fergie got a helluva job trying to replace him . his tackling wasnt bad either lol joke .
  3. whin i made the mistake of saying this in a pub in clonmel one night and an old gent who we had been drinking with all night got up and tried to start world war 3 called us hare murderers and cruel b*****ds because of the way we course with lurchers . he must have been near ninety if he was a day but a right character .
  4. if thats grass he can come and do mine .lol.
  5. everyone should read trevor liddles rich without money all about the flapgame and tricks and cons that go on i must have read it 3 times cracking read . and scothunter i know where your coming from thats one of the reasons i only kept top heat open racers and if i fancied a bet get it on before meeting started .
  6. the litter of first cross saluki greyhounds i bred last year my bitch was bigger than most of the litter but she levelled out 25tts and my sons dog pup ended up 28/29tts which was a surprise because there wasnt any differance in size at 16 weeks . goes to show i suppose .
  7. been loads of times really good craic the coursing is nothing like the waterloo but still very good couple of days and the irish make everyone very welcome anything and everything for a running dog is on sale there . and in the night the pubs and hotels are wall to wall coursing talk with videos on in every place you go of the days coursing as i said top class three days for running dog folk .but and heres the rub havnt been for last 2 years because of the price of everything over there . it really is an expensive three days .b ut well worth it if you can afford the wonga it costs .
  8. had one of this cross about 30 year ago very intelligent in fact to much so started picking itds runs very early in life but cracking bitch . nice pups by the way .
  9. had 2 of these cracking tools and easy to use and no maintenence imo best non pcp air rifle out there.
  10. no such thing as a bad cross theres someone out there for every cross . as they say one mans meat is another mans poison .personally dont like the whippet bull or whippet collie actually love whippets but find those two crosses usually to small and cloddy .better when crossed with a greyhound .
  11. thats the way to do it well done .
  12. but what a manager fergie out on his own a truly one off.
  13. got married 40 year ago and been paying for it ever since lol and a lot more than them call girls as well .
  14. me to i had some real go od dogs but as i said the niggles and injuries put me off in the end. we won loads of open races and great memories from it .
  15. great read brought back some memories for me some bad losing good dogs doing the job they loved some funny like the night we pulled up to start lamping and my mate had the runs dropped his kecks and crouched down and the car opposite who were getting down to it putt the headlights on him we didnt know they were there he didnt stop like he said he was in full flow .another night picked my mate up who had come out from nick in the morning annd wanted a quiet nights lamping anyway cut a long story short came down heavy farmers keepers and police and my mate out on early release we hid in a pile
  16. scothunter your right with that saying the feckers will bring patches to your arse once you get hooked as you said great sport though .
  17. taz 123 as lab says go to your nearest flapping track and see if you like it if you go on flappers dream all the tracks in uk are on there mind you if to compete at the top ie top heat opens its a very expensive hobby the injuries finished me a lot harder to keep a greyhound sound than a lurcher especially at the top level but good luck whatever you decide .
  18. being totally honest here ive seen tight cat feet and flat feet with long toes and as long as the nails are kept short and neat and tidy it hasnt made a lot of differance to how the dogs run and turn. ive had as many injuries over the years with either type of feet /toes. the only timei look for a nice cat foot up on the toe is if ime judging because then its about beauty and looks asyou will never tell by looking at them how they perform in the feild.
  19. you only have to look at the countrywide bodies in this country take the cla biggesrt countryside show in the world no lurchers or terriers show . read the countryside alliance pamphlets never a mention or photograph of lurcherwork or coursing says it all really .and this was before the ban never mind after .
  20. well done jenky top man for that. more like it needed in our sport .
