    Bit weird that on all accounts. I would say someone was dumping them, but that's a lot, and over what period of time? How are they getting into the lurchers run? Any way you could block it off, or maybe set a cage trap with some meat and see what you get, at least that way you might be able to tell how wild they were. And i would slightly worry about the dog getting too used to killing ferrets.

    Do you live in a town or rural? That looks like a ferret rather than a polecat. There are wild populations, but not around in wales mate. Very wierd to get so many, all polecat looking?

    First thing would be to contact the guy at the pet shop and tell him that he is either a blatant liar who just wanted to off load his pregnant jill so he didnt have to deal with it, or he REALLY shouldn't be selling ferrets if he can't tell between male and female (the give away is the big set of nuts), and if he cannot spot a pregnant jill a f*****g mile off.     Similar, but slightly un-related. You go to a show in a local area, and see maybe 100 dogs that are said to be fox dogs, and all those folk say they are taking a few fox each week with them. If that's the case, how the f**k are there any fox left in the area past the end up september If everyone you saw at a show, worked all their dogs, like they say they do, then there would be no quarry what so ever, anywhere.

    Blame the person who bred it , Ive bred bull breeds for years and it always takes me time o sell what pups are left as i wont sell to people i dont think will look after the dog properly i also leave the door open for return of a dog within 18months if person changes there mind Yup, that's exactly who i blame. Just like anything else that can seriously f**k folk / stuff up, it's a responsibility, and shouldn't be taken or handed out lightly.

    At the end of the day it doesn't really matter how many dogs others have as long as they look after them properly. Buuuuuut it's bullshit if they claim that they work them all fully. Annnnnd it's a bit of a shame when they buy a decent, well bred dog, or get gifted one, and you can see it has real potential, but it never gets to reach it's potential, because the person doesn't put the time in to working them, they just want to collect them.

    Most scary thing i see, is 16/17 year old kids with pit or pit x pups, or big am/bull pups, and they don't train them at all, just want them to appear hard and scary, and then all of a sudden the pup has grown and they have a beast like a weapon, that they cannot control, that's dragging them about like a rag doll.

    Good post mate. What i always find strange is the need for some of those that do it, or say they do it, to try to convince a bunch of total strangers (who they profess to look down on) on the internet of their achievements? Just don't get it.

    Maybe as you get older and grow up you realize at the end of the day it doesnt matter if you catch a bunch of game, or a 'legendary' amount of game. . . . (unless your getting payed for it)

You have a coursing dog right? So if the police came and took it and arrested you because in the future they thought you might go hare coursing, but there was no evidence you had committed any crimes?
