  1. I like the flying dog at the end.
  2. I would put my money on there being a load of little ones, scutties, running around below ground, and the ferrets were spending most of their time chasing down and killing them.
  3. I know a lads locally that dont really breed pups for the money mate so i could argue my point here, However its not worth going into that. I could have merely been speeking of a ''mates rates'' price, So would you be as confident then ? One of the best pups i've seen of late, cost in that range. Lots of good breeding behind it etc etc etc.
  4. There is a big difference between a pup going to someone who you know is a tidy lad and will do whats needed etc, and it just going to someone who you dont know from adam. You only have to see how a 'free pup' advert on here pulls in the idiots like flies to shit.
  5. The nests are not even the problem, or the digging, it's sitting round for a fecking hour as the ferrets chase down and kill scutties down there, who won't bolt, just hole hop.
  6. Don't see the problem, as long a it's shaded and window cracked, they will be fine. Run the guts out of them in the morning, and they will probs sleep most of it. NO worse than a kennel, or shed etc.
  7. Makes a lot more sense now that you have explained it all mate, cheers
  8. Not a dig TOMO a observation bases on two topics something I notice lately thread and this one. The starting of both threads are going to draw conflicting views and only service to cause divide in the hunting communtiy if if that was not intended and the forum and oringnal OP has got to take the rough with smooth on members views of the subject and the reason for the oringnal threads. Unlike some members I do not intended to follow others in a sheep like way with disliking members I base my views and opinions on my experience in life and forum. 10. 2 questions. Firstly, why do folk always compare dogs to wild animals / wolves. They are domesticated animals that have been domesticated for a looooong fecking time. They do totally different things than wild animals. A wild dog would catch a rabbit at night, eat it and then sleep. Not, catch it, then bring it to a person, then run and catch / try to catch a load more. Same with terriers, how often do you reckon wild dogs go underground to battle foxlike creatures??? Second - Digger, seen your dogs, they look well enough. But Do you not find they cant work day 1 due to being stuffed?
  11. Like Tomo says, high cage fronts, combined with a concrete floor will mostly do the trick. P.S - It was extremely sunny and quite warm today Tomo . . . . sods law i suppose.

  13. You make a very good post and then ruin it at the end trying to have a pop at me. And when you read this reply, i bet you will go on spouting the usual drivel about how i dont like you, and everyone follows like sheep etc. To be honest mate, i've never had a problem with you, but i'm starting to. I don't hate anyone for doing / having done more than i do hunting wise, if i meet such folk, i try to button up and learn a bit. That's the name of the game, however much you do, there is usually someone who does just that bit more, or something different you have not thought of. That's a damn go
  14. Some very good points, and when i get round to pulling my finger out, i'll write something and we can all pull it apart on here As to the idea that 'well at least we have a country sports paper' - but to be honest a lot of times with the cmw, it's a case of, who needs enemies, when you have a friend like that. My biggest gripe is that the editor plays a very poor role, if it was me, i would read the articles before they went to print and look out for any obviously nonsense opinion, not to mention hassling decent writers for some articles. I can only assume that most folk who chop
  15. Aye i do what the lad does, 2 feeds a week. Mind you, the sheep, keep them going for a day or two.
  16. I'd pay up to £200 for a decent pup.
  17. True He's got better lately, well. . . . a little. Or maybe i've just got used to it. I'll be down again early season mate, so hopefully see you then!
  18. Aye, the question was, was it a ligament thing, or just a lump.
  19. Wilf - A sample has been taken by a vet prior to this to check for just that.
  20. Beast - Aye, he had a look at my back as well Trinder - It's on my thread in the health section
  21. 16 is a bit excessive, aye, you only give a kid one, and they are lucky if friends / familly give them others. As for the packaging, it's a piss take!
  22. Aye, mine went in black, and came back with dotted white lines
  23. Took Finn to see Robert Meek the bone man today after Brookie on here told me he was in my part of the world at times, and gave me his number (cheers matey) Anyway, took the drive up and he looked the dog over, i wanted him to check out one foot, where i thought there was a problem with a ligament maybe, but he said it was just a foreign body causing some swelling or just a fatty lump, so all good on that front (yay!). However he also checked the rest of the dog over, clicked him here and there, stretched this and that, and told me he had two sore / pulled muscles, just minor things t
  24. Yes mate you blame that on the 'chopping'............... The one.........As i said doing it properly....who's whacking them on the back of the shoulders.... No mate, thats the other hand, and its over developed wrist on that side
