  1. Well. . . . this is a piece of porcupine liver . . . . . . .. ohhhhhh it's awesome
  2. Nope, and everything has to be thought through a few times before you have a go, as you cant really afford to waste the energy / resources. You certainly wouldnt cut the fat off your meat as well.
  3. Unfortunatly no . . . . . . . This is a genuine question lads and ladettes . . . . . it seems to me like it should be ok, but somehow i think they would still try to feck you? But not sure on what grounds??? A lot of folk, even in cities, keep chickens in the back yard, in a coop, and often also have a pet dog, say a staffie, running lose in their back yard, and as we all know there are a lot of foxes in urban areas, so if one decided to come into your enclosed garden, and instead of chickens, met the dog, and was promptly munched. . . . . is that prosecutable under the hunting act???
  4. You become a wild thing again, and the laws of nature apply to you and your life, i.e you have to think carefully about expenditure of energy, risk etc. So in a true survival situation, you dont take any uneseccary hikes, you cant afford to burn the calories, with no gain from it. I think everything pretty much becomes about feeding yourself, and trying not to break your body, and thats it, over and over every day. So whilst you might want to go and do some hard work to improve your camp, you would need to factor in an increased need for calories before you did so, or it could lead to a spiral
  5. What i always think about, and what came out in the programme, was that you start to obsess about hurting yourself, everything you do, you think, what if i broke my leg, or even twisted my ankle etc etc. That happens and you are f****d for feeding yourself etc.
  6. What i like the most about it is, how exciting and great it is at first, and how much he under estimated the psychological impact. Maybe it's worth a watch for some of the folk on here who think it'd be great to live in the wilderness, just one long round of hunting and fishing yer?
  7. Cheers for the reply, and genetics are funny old things, as you know. You could do the same breeding again, and end up with a collie. if that makes sense? Percentages are not the be all and end all. I mean on paper a 5/8 collie shouldnt be able to get near some of the stuff that Adonis does. I know what you are saying in that physically when put to any runner, the pups should have more to offer than himself, but im not so sure, well, not for ANY runner, as like we have said before, speed isnt that important, as long as the dog is 'fast enough', and how fast, fast enough, is, depends on land /
  8. Don't know if anyone has seen it, but a series, that follows a guy who decides to take himself off to a lake in canada and completely cutr himself off for months, with no contact with the outside world. . . . and film it. Good watch. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/4od/collections/6-home-of-the-brave
  9. That's what i was wondering sean. At the end of the day, the dogs are 'under control' in the sense that they are being confined on private property. There is no 'intention' As for owning a hunting dog, this scenerio, could play out with any number of 'pet' or guard breeds. I.e - if i legaly had an alsation running lose on my property behind i decent perimiter fence, and the fox scaled it and got in, and found itself on the wrong side of the Alsation, if that breaking the hunting ban?
  10. Ok, this might sound stupid, but bear with me . . . . . It's illegal to kill a fox with your dog, we all know that. And at various points people have debated about what the legality is of being out for just a walk and your dog accidently catching and killing a fox, and i think it pretty much always goes, that its your duty to be able to control the dog, and have it on a lead or under control etc, so its your fault and still illegal, accident or not. But. . . . . . . How about if your dog/s were under control, confined in your yard, and a fox decided to enter your yard, and in the p
  11. Thankyou very much andy, the first bitch, was the one i had seen before, what a lovely stamp of dog. Are there any photos of any of the other dogs (inc that black n white) as adults? Just wondering if they had dons stamp, or were racier / thicker set? And were there any pups that were thrown very much to the collie? That litter is very nice mate, i especially like Scrappy doo, and the bitch that is being held? Adonis certainly throws decent pups, well at least well put together, and from what i have heard, they are starting well? Do you think his pups such as reggie / chief. will
  12. Just a quick one, but do yu have any photos of Dons litter sisters? (remember seeing one before) and also any more of reggie and that litter? Sure there have been a few pics i might have missed? Cheers.
  13. Hot day, drinking beer and some offroading, going for a swim with the dogs now, then a curry. Happy Days! And looking at a litter of pups tomorrow!

  14. Vin - sounds like a brilliant plan, lets get the tour started.
  15. Heartbreaking mate, hope it gets found for the bloke.
  16. Just what you need to read when you come home at 2am My dads mate used to have a tame fox, and it had a cub that was tame as well.
  17. Now, i'm not one to say that someone should not ferret without a locator, but they are bloody handy tools. I also get them used to coming to a squeek, but lets face it, if the warren is big and deep, they are not going to hear it, and i have had ferrets stuck behind rabbits, etc, and in that situation, no amount of calling is gonna get them out. Obviously you can be selective in what warrens you ferret etc, and you probably wont have a problem, but i like the ability to be able to drop my ferrets anywhere with confidence that orst case scenario, i will be able to dig them out, and even hopeful
  18. What colour is it?
  19. At the end of the day 'jacker' is a very subjective term, i would not breed of a wise mans jacker, as it would probably be a jacker, and i wouldn't breed of an idiots jacker, because jacker or not, it's owned by an idiot. And like Chart says, why would you even consider if, if you like a dog, but it's jacked, then why not find pretty much the same dog. . . . . . but one that has not jacked, and if you cant find one of the same bloodline that has not 'jacked', then that might suggest that the blood is best avoided. JMO.
  20. It's all theory mate, with genetics and breeding, but like i said, i'd probably go for the whippet/grey x collie.
  21. I wasn't meaning to be a knob matey, it's just 'better' is a funny word, better at what? in what sense? and on what land etc? lso it's a lot down to the dog, the breeding and the owner. In theory i would guess that a decent collie/whip/grey would be more versatile than a straight collie / whip, as it would stand a bit taller, and have that bit more running dog (and it being grey) in it to give it more pace, especially top end. If i was looking for a lamp dog i'd def pick the collie/whip/grey if bred right, and probably for day work as well, although i do think for the kind of ferreting
  22. 'Better' ? It might not be a stupid question, but it sure looks like one. But i'd probably say that in theory a collie/whippet/grey would be more versatile.
