  1. Well done Gnash! You will have to go walk about every year now matey!
  2. Blackwater - you are almost as boring and repetative as that Whin bloke was. Now i know you have done a lot, and i know that you do a fair bit, and i know that you keep decent dogs in your kennel, and go out and put them on game. But for fecks sake - give it a rest with the old 'rabbits mean nothing', 'photos mean nothing'. At the end of the day, for some reason, you see yourself as some kind of hunting / running dog messiah, and you HATE other folk, and other dogs, getting any kind of attention or praise. Now either stick to your guns r.e you dont care about recognition, etc, and keep yo
  3. Also, if you out him back in, there is a good chance she will come back into season in the next month or so and you will end up with kits.
  4. Here's a couple more pics of her awake. She's been pretty good today, spent most of it in the cage in the back of the car (boot open) watching me install water lines and drinkers for phesants, then has a good sleep, and has just spent a couple of hours running around like a little nutter, killing toys and attacking my socks! Finn still refuses to have anything to do with her and has hidden up stairs since she arrived.
  5. Would like to see some pics if anyone has any, always interesting.
  6. Make sure you get it right mate, or folk will be threatening to punch you! trying to enter you,re whippet in the lurcher racing were you, rosette chaser lol No smooth coated under 23 in the ring aye rosette chaser I've said it once, and i'll say it again, the lady said, smooth coated dog, under 23 ", and well . . . . .. he's a dog, he's smooth coated and he's under 23". Some folk just can't handle the competition
  7. I li I like having a dog in the house, stops me being lonely Also, it's a handy security device. Wouldnt have more than one living in though! less chance of them being stolen as well Very true!

  9. Ferret features is a bit special i think, like the kind of special person, that isn't allowed out on their own. Josh - in some cases you are probably right, but if you put the time etc in, you can spend just as much 'valuable' time with the dog if it's kenneled, and get just as strong a bond.
  10. No. Although some folk will get more out of a dog with it being in the house / in the kennel etc.
  11. Everyone likes Tony's jumper.......................................I think its digital camo for the over 60's
  12. Make sure you get it right mate, or folk will be threatening to punch you!
  13. Im inclined to agree with you chalky, but it's kind of a nice idea, to have a few lads of similar mind set, checking out each other dogs, with some one half respected, passing their eye over them, and then seeing whose will chase the fox brush fastest etc. Beats sitting on the couch, but falls far behind, going for an actual walk with the dogs.
  14. Aye, it kind of spoils it a bit, as then other folk dont bother entering their lurchers as there is no point in doing so. I've been to a few shows recently and it's all a farse, most of the time. I usually take the whippet rather than leaving him in the kennel. The whippet class is usually the biggest of the day, and everyone there tells you their dogs is a worker, but im not sure how one family can work 12 whippets Same dogs always win, those that can stand prettiest, and look shiney. Quite a few times i've been the only one, or one of the only ones, in the ring that isn't part of the sa
  15. Aye twice!! And with bull x whippets was it not?
  16. Surely it is a 'long dog', being a cross bred running dog with only sight hound blood? In the traditional 'non ped' sense. But then nearly all greyhounds have bull blood, so you could say they are all lurchers as well. I think what gets most folk, is when you have a lurcher racing event at a working lurcher show, for a bit of fun, and then you get the folk turning up with their specially bred race dogs, bred purely for racing, and they always win, it's just a cowardly victory in my opinion. I want to see all kinds of proper working lurchers racing against each other, it's meant to be good
  17. Think you made the right decision keith!
  18. Ive said this loads of times mate. People get in such a huff over the halal slaughter, and yet same folk would happily (pre ban) run and kill a fox with a dog, cut a deers throat or break a rabbits neck with their hands.
  19. Nothing like taking another mans livlehood
  20. Looks a real nice pup that mate.
  21. Cheers all. Well, she has certainly settled in, and starting to get the hang of the whole shitting outside thing. Noisy little bugger though. She's in the house at the moment, caged, and will be for a while, then out in the kennel. Aye Tyla, stress and fun, just hopefully more fun and less stress, although like i said, if she turns out totally unsuited for the job i intend for her, i will find some work that she is suited to.
  22. Have done it, but more like stick piles, bales etc. I usually just jump into / onto the bushes like a loon.
