flim67 this problem is being debated on Moochers and as you know Moochers members only vouch for one another ,it doesn't apply on here as anyone can sign up,my point regarding the moochers site is the Admin is asking for members opinion of whether they should allow a copper to join the site,i've said no,but at the end of the day it 'll be down to admin on there,i've said whats the point of vouching,i could vouch for an RSPCA officer,so what's the difference in the end?You may vouch for any type of official, but you have to remember it's them and us these days, and for us it's getting worse why

I still think it's cruel and i hunt, hypocrite i may be but the difference is i choose to kill or release, but my original post was about whether it's too late to release them or is it better to end their days, anyway what sort of life will they have in a controlled compound, they still have to be fed by man having lost their natural instinct to hunt and find food, and then at the slightest sound of music their worst memories will come flooding back so conditioned are they that they will never be able to forget their cruel treatment, just like to add that i 'm glad this project has succeeded in rel

I'm NOT Scottish, but am in on the original march in England, just want to add my voice to your post Mcass,we meed another thread like this but with the Irish and the welsh lads getting together joining up,hopefully there will be enough hunting folk to make it worthwhile.OH,it's not finished yet,we also need the shooters, the fishermen, the gamekeeepers, the beaters, the CA,BASC,and all the big organisations that are supposed to support us,in fact regardless of your chosen sportwe need everybody together this time, this is not a time to decide to be thinking'oh it's alright i'm not in that category'm

Well said Bulldoug,i am involved on the other site and trying to say no to coppers on hunting forums, the bottom line is if they enjoy hunting get out of the force and join the hunting community proper, you can't be half in and half out,in a bit Bulldoug your words will be meaningless,we might as well start letting RSPCA officers on if they hunt,or even antis on if they 'hunt' also, what's next, the LACS if they tell us they do a bit of hunting too! he shouldn't put a dog in anywhere unless he can see it through to get the dog back dead or alive, tossers like him should be named and shamed in case any one tries to sell him a dog with which he can repeat his performance, good on you Digbert for getting the dog out, give him an ear bashing from me as well, Higgins

Hust another thought you say the 'new box' are you reading from visual leds as they are a guide only, and are you looking at the correct row whether on locate or search? There is a different method of search with these new boxes, also do you make correct use of the pin pointer? Higgins

temperature could affect the batteries, i would do some dry indoor testing away from eletrical interference(there were no electrical power lines nearby?)if everything works fine, then i would suspect damp conditions or Low battery capacity,if it is repeatedly giving similar results i'd give Deben a ring, Higgins.
-
it could be dampness in the collars, try drying them out and then wrap insulating tape around them and test again, also new batteries don't mean a thing to me as they are draining/leaking all the time, whenever you buy a new set of batteries test them with a multimeter for voltage readings, Higgins

Low standards...... too low
higgins replied to hungry hunter's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
You'll have to look long and hard to find honest terriermen, and that's where you'll find the decent terriers, not saying you won't find them elsewhere, but the line bred worker to worker stuff won't be always be found in the breeders with well known names, good topic pal, shall be interesting to hear other's views, Higgins. -
there's still another gun shop on same road in Bolton, also i'm sure another new gun shop opened there recently,so that's two if you intend to go and visit, can't say if these will be any good, Higgins

Hope you enjoyed them mate, just watch out for any signs of strychnine poisoning, you know the one,it's passed on down the food chain, whatever eats the mole then is eaten by other predators it's highly toxic,i'd say give it a few days and if your still alive then you've been dead lucky, when's your next mole meal? Higgins

have seen fits in patterdales on a few occasions, usually with Border terier crosses, not sure if it's the same things Border terriers are prone to, Higgins

Bearinator,a wild animal is a wild animal and should never be caged or chained, the distress and pure depressing boredom suffered by these beasts and the fear on top of that, surely they would be better hunted and despatched instantly for they would never know captivity and all it's torment, these bears should be pts in my mind, what memories do they have and how can they ever find freedom from being released, they are not truly released anyway they are in special compounds and still being fed by man, they are no longer able to find their own food as they were never taught by the parents since they
-
Little timmy i expect you could train most animals on a reward basis, but this thread wasn't about training bears it was focused more on the cruelty aspects and whether it is more humane to put them to sleep or let them live, and any animal restricted through being trained with a ring or rope through their nose is not being trained on a reward basis, Higgins
-
even though they dance through fear, the conditioning they have gone through means that they'll still dance,as the music always remind them of fear, this is the point i'm trying to make out, they are damaged and it would be more humane to put them to sleep, Higgins
