  1. yeah he is, helps no end for dogs same as us mate, used to give my little bro steam for his asthma worked a treat.
  2. got the led lenser its a good headtorch one, but it aint the right colour it lights up the field but you cant pick things out very well, prefer a clulite TBH
  3. plenty of miles getting him fit, dog had a run in with something he shouldnt of other evening though and it ripped his ear so waiting for that to heal up a good bit, got two weeks off over next month so should get a good bit more done by then
  4. if its hot as f**k id leave the motor miles away, driving around with your name and adress basically on the front and back of you, at least on foot you can run and hide and you aint traceable from sight they have to actually catch you.
  5. Yes....start with something smaller than the dummy. She will be getting put of by the weight of the dummy and there a good chance with ner holding up the dummy she is not seeing the jump clearly on returning with it. Lets face it she's a very young puppy to be doing any kind of training like this. You be better of sitting in the garden playing with her than any sort of training for months yet...... i agree to a point, dont over do it and make it easy and fun, and playing is much more important to bond with the pup, but dont wait months to start training, its gonna be a working dog (h
  6. could of been a lot worse mate. on a side note - did you ever have much luck local last year mate? i think i may well have secured some permission local, just waiting to see if i can take the dog too, got it for netting and air rifles but not really what i wanna do. its very local so if it comes up your welcome for a night out there sometime. be better than travelling 200 miles 3 times a week!
  7. i think he'd have more chance!
  8. dont hink she needs to worry about that, lol
  9. yeah its meant to, my dog was ok with retrieving balls sticks etc up to about 8 month, now he will do it once or twice but not after that, i think he thinks 'if you want it so much why do you keep throwing the damn thing away' some dogs just dont seem to be bothered by things like this, whereas some dogs (collies for instance) will play ball all day long and not get bored, they are basically bred to serve you all day long and need that constant stimulation but mine always retreives bunnies to me straight away, he knows the difference between play and work clearly. good luck mate
  10. sounds like you need to get the recall sorted first mate, get that up to scratch all the time then try with the bunnies. do you take her out alone? or is there other dogs present? could be worried that the other dog might take her catch off her. mine was like this and it got better when we started lamping at 12 months, to begin with he would run off with it, if they do, lamp off walk away back to car or whatever giving the recall command, end the fun so to speak. eventually when she comes back with or without catch, start lamping again(try find the catch first), you need to get her to
  11. they look cracking dogs, credit to the owners, sire looks awesome particularly. dont listen to all these negative comments, they are working and old enough to breed, if they do the job well then why the hell not breed off them? all the best with them
  12. and you think thats a good thing?
  13. mine is slightly protective over food but i think most are to some degree, he growls if another dog comes too near while he's eating, he never growls at a human when eating. and he gets a little aggressive over sticks and balls but never on game either retrieving or whilst running doubled up. he's been very well socialised as i lived next to one of the busiest parks in sheffield until a couple of months back when i bought a camper to live in. and the only dog he has ever growled at unprovoked was a st bernard but the f****r was huge and i think he was just scared, as soon as he saw he was
  14. very interesting subject to me, i have a bullx and he's been the softest dog ive ever known, still is usually and is fine when retrieving game to me and my mate with his dog present, however if we play with a ball with them (actually worse with sticks) he becomes very possesive and it comes out as agression, my mates dog is smaller and a bit quicker but my lad is faster over distance, often if they both chase the same ball, the small dog gets to it just before mine but the bullx gets a bit aggressive and the small dog drops it and lets him have it, very strange as when they play fight the sma
  15. yeah mate, your a faggot if you care about your dogs. if you want them to have a good season and not be laid up with injury all the time, definately a faggot. ..................TIT!
  16. nice one mate, come september im well up for it, ill be in touch
  17. f**k it id come down and have a go, do i have to slag you off first though? can i park my camper up down there? ill bring a couple of dogs down and me mate if thats cool. dont want a comp though, ill lose but up for a decent night out
  18. id love one but i cant justify it, maybe if i had more permission, but with the price of them i couldnt ditch it if things got a bit hot
  19. its real young still mate, dont worry at all. just work on building up her confidence.
  20. havent had an injury yet you should say! can be quite dangerous, imagine two dogs and for some reason they are coming at the same rabbit or whatever from different directions they cant see each other, if they both get to that rabbit at the same time head on crash, it aint gonna be pretty.
