  6. nice to see everyone doing fairly well despite the rough weather this season,its my first season with my pup and my mates with his, i got a bullx he's got colliexwhippet, they are both doing really well considering the land we have. (not much and everything shy as f**k). both had a good few bunnies each and two with big ears to the colliex and one to my bullx, who also managed a shot n retrieved fox, all be it a bit of scabby little one. id get some pics up if i had a camera!
  7. my pup was getting good before the freeze and now he seems well behind again, i think its just the break in the middle of learning, just hoping he comes good again, he is my first lurcher so cant offer much advice, 'anyone else????' just keep at it mate. best of luck

  9. had a look out last night too, just managed the 1 out of two runs, night seemed good for it, but the numbers seem well down after the cold spell.
  10. riohog - that first pic with the wolf looks like its got some sort of chain and harness on?!?!
  11. the freeze seems to expand the ground then when it melts it like chocolate mousse half a foot deep where we go. certainly gets you fit though.
  12. you got two choices imo, get her a good pet home, or try working her and keep at it, dont get her working and get her prey drive up, then give up cos it aint what you want, then give her to a pet home with a high prey drive, all or nothing i reckon! but id have a go.

  14. nice one mate, good to see your getting among them again, we had another 4 hour trip last night with nothing to speak of, saw a few bunnys in hedges and a few long ears, didnt even get the pup a slip. really starting to get frustrating now. where abouts were you mate?
  15. mine hasnt, and he still quite hard mouthed, never played tug of war with him much or encouraged it
  16. make sure he excells in the 2nd and 3rd season, then breed from it maybe? still aint fully developed or matured yet
  17. i cant wait any longer im taking mine for a few runs tonight, the snows gone real sludgey and not much left, and the ground under dont seem too hard so gonna pick a few nice grassy fields i know and do them. dog is getting well fed up of just walking gotta let him ave a go he's eaten two pairs of tariners this week out of boredom never normally does anything like that

  20. i have a friend who lives in a bowtop with two lurchers, he does it, for food for him and dogs when he cant get rabbits like now but i know he dont do it for sport, his dogs are very good snow or not.
