  3. mine does the same, has to back up to a bush or shit on a tree stump or low wall or fence, right b*****d, he will not shit in my garden though (when i had one) suppose thats a bonus as dont have a shitty garden, now my gardens sherwood forest so he can shit where he likes! also he is a heavy breather, does my head in while lamping but after couple slips he stops pulling so much and it calms down, dont mind the pulling too much, rather have a keen game dog pulling me along then one that doesnt have the drive, but saying that i would like to stop it and it is getting better with time and exp

  10. thats the problem mate hes a bullx his drive is ridiculous and he would literally run himself to death every time we go lamping if we had enough game and i didnt stop him first, even when he is fit, and he ran this with my mates saluki cross, he really isnt meant for that stuff.
  11. i tell you what that topic is very good and a lot of info, most i struggle with but very insightful big up sandymere, i know if this ever happens again, and god i hope not, i will be straight to the vet, from my observations it didnt go too far and im very lucky the dog has normal coloured urine, although a fair bit of it. and he isnt sore to the touch or walking badly so i guess im/ he is one of the lucky ones. proper shook me up though, and he'll be at my side 24/7 for next few days just to make sure.
  12. i feel very lucky this time, thanks again for all the info, im glad there shouldnt be any lasting damage, made me think about giving up runnin him seeing him like that, i was in a right state as like i have said he is my companion, i live alone with him and i dont know what id do without him. but i know he wouldnt be happy not working, i guess ill just have to write it down to experience, and i will never be working him again without some glucose syrup with me, but long before that he is gonna be getting a lot fitter.
  13. vin he was very well fed that day. and he is with me at work today nice and warm near a heater, hard to get him to stay still though, he seems full of it again.
  14. cheers everyone, gonna do what skycat has said and keep very close eye on him, vets in any other problems at all, but he does seem ok now
  15. and will there be permanent damage if it was this?
  16. yeah like i said in the post i was not running him, he just put something up with my mates dog, we were just walking back into the village and they went into the last field before the village. i know he isnt fit thats why he was on lead most of walk, but he has to get fit somehow so let him have a play with my mates dog at end of walk for 5 mins, he isnt even the sort of dog for that particular quarry i dont use him for that. the reason im posting is because it was at least twenty mins after we been out, he was pulling at lead and sniffing about for at least 20 mins on way home seemed happ
  17. want some advice as i dont know what happened.... went for a moonlit mooch last night with my mates dog, very good land for some of the longer running game. my dog is not fit, not near still as he been injured fora while. so he was on lead most of time because of the chance of some runs he aint ready for. anyway we was towards the end of a long walk near the village so i let him off to play with mates dog briefly before we got back, anyway they ended up putting something up and a long run ensued for them both, they both came back, tired but ok. so back on lead and home we go, still abo
