  5. The RSPCA mantain a strong presence at Melton due to the amount of livestock sold ,they ,and i,have no issue with the way they are presented for sale , they have to be in clean ,dry, bedding,in cool, airy surroundings ,they are not handled by the genral public and there sale is as stress free as possible ,to give them there due ,the market board ensure that all animals, whether prize bull or tame rat are all treated with respect, any fault lies entirely with these so called ferret keepers and breeders.
  6. plenty of rabbits here mate ,not many people want them though
  7. it is sad , a few years back before they altered the market and it was Startins Auctions ,there would have been 200 / 300 rabbits and if you were lucky, one ferret .
  8. there was between 70 / ferrets for auction at melton today ,its the end of the season so people get rid of them there were more ferrets for sale than there was rabbits this jill wanted to take two jills home sad when people just get rid ,the two does my Mrs took out the box were very tame and looked like they had done a fair bit of late season graft.

  14. I wouldn't agree with that mate. you don't have to agree,we are all entitleld to an opinion but my opinion is based on the facts that i was out ferreting in the early 50s [pre mixi] with men who had been ferreting in the 1800s, those men thought locaters were the best invention since the steam engine ,but if those men were alive today the would tell you,,,,,,,, ,with or without a locater ,ferreting is not the best way of catching and controlling rabbits . Nore is shooting or dogs ferretting is a method that is very effective if used with other methods as I yet to see any group of rif

  17. a few years back ferreting was not really considered a a very good way of taking rabbits off of the land, its allways been good fun but not that productive ,the locator has now made ferreting better, easier, and more productive.
