i think you need to be out inbetween, out after midnight and back early morning, although i must admit that iv been out in the first few hours of darkness alot this season, but a more direct answer would be that 90 percent of folk cant get there arses out of bed to lamp in the a.m, and as mentioned those that get lost alot when walking there dogs are less likely to be rumbled

Just thought that there would have been a thread by now on someone exploits on there keepers days, so thought id kick it off was out beating on friday for a keepers day, they shot 174, things swapped around for the sat, we shot 146... my place had ours yeasterday shooting 105.. and out again today on another estate getting 68 head, weather was sleety all day, real cold wet stuff, but still a good day out.. so just another 3 to go, tomorrow should be a good one, as should thursday, but friday could well be single figures its making all the days out beating worth it now so what y

Side by side or Over and under??
alimac replied to Elmerfudd's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Any advantage or otherwise is almost entirely in the mind of the user. Grip tends to be a bit different (fairly obvious) and far more O/U are made these days giving a wider choice. The most important thing is get a gun that fits and is still tight. With £300 you are not going to get a top make/gun but there is plenty of choice of very useable guns at this price. yep they certainly are like wise with ziess (sp)

big money ???? 500 notes is not that much per gun in the big shoots world, were 5000 for 9 guns, shooting 6 drives, looking for 150 head.and im far from being a big bag shoot.... imo when big days are mentioned your talking 20,000 for your team of 8 or 9 guns for the day ( pounds that is ) Its like every thing else in life there is a few that will do it just because they can, the majority of big days are taken by high rolling city workers thats co#ks are that small they need all these imerterial things to make them feel good about them selves the same sort off attitude that makes them

true true, rob i quote a bit in your last post, " terrier work is like nothing else , they either do or they dont " says it all for me...... its like your tellin me people like kye and co go up for high altitude training and stay in a shed rather than a house just to sharpen him up as staying in the house will ruin them....

would worry until you speak to the new owner, if the seller likes what you do / did then im sure he will pass on his thoughts to the new boy.... i have in the past managed to get a farmer to right out a shooting lease for 5 years when he put his up on the market, you will have to know the farmer v well as it could put people off veiwing / buying .. not that i needed it, the new guy was spot on.. but i moved away myself 5 months later, but there you go

no being arsey , but imo if the dog is bred right and has the heart to be a proper earth dog, or any other working dog for that matter, then its should make no difference at all on how kean they are at the job, even in the worst of weathers... but i guess that just because i have not seen it , it dont mean i cant happen, but i would put it down to the dog not having heart for its work in the first place, again no offence if you were refering to one you have had in the past.. one of my lurchers spends its time when not working, in front of the fire in the biggest fluffy rug you could ask fo

were going good, apart from one day in nov that went tits up as some poaching prick had his lurchers coursing hares through my game covers, and some folk say there doing no harm (kidding) no, all jokes aside if it could have gone wrong it did, lack of beaters was my main down fall, as i started the shoot up 4 years ago, and it hadnt been used 33 years previous, im last in line for beaters as they had prioritys on other estates... theres NO way on gods earth that this estate could produce 50% returns, guns come here to test them selves on birds that make a average team look poor.. i must

a similar thing was posted a few weeks back... at the time it had me stumped, but theres only a few select numbers that can be made.. the symbol for each of these final numbers are the same, they just change the symbol every time you do it , confusing you brain into thinking its magic... obviously numbers like 01 dont work... sorry to spoil ya fun

hmmm.. the answer would be NO as there all social networking sites that dont get antis etc looking into finding any information about them....so comparing the hunting life to f.ckwitbook or bebo etc is a little strange.... yes people meet folk through hunting sites but there far from being a 100 % social site
