  1. In the case of sudden berevement, the police usually issue a temporary firearms permit to allow the next of kin time to sort things out.
  2. I watched most of it. I got annoyed by the fundementalist muslims, and then by the idiots in the EDL. How do they expect to be taken seriously when they behave like that? Tommy Whatshisname made a complete dick of himself getting pissed like that and trying to get a reaction out of the coppers. Those preaching race hate should be locked up or deported if they were born in a different country. Those morons doing the nazi salute and behaving like dicks should be birched in public. I don't know which makes me more ashamed to be British; the mad muslims demanding sharia law or the c
  3. Hoorah! Someone else who talks sense.
  4. You could have a 'lovely day',
  5. A little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

      paulus

a dangerous thing can be avoided with a little bit of knowledge...lol

  6. You suppose an awful lot. I'm not taking this any further as I suspect that the number printed inside you shoes is higher than your IQ. Oh, and I stand by my earlier assertion; you know feck all about UK pest control law.
  7. Why are you banging on about spaniels? I don't own any spaniels. Currently I have 2 terriers and 2 labradors. In the past I've kept running dogs and lots of terriers. What the hell any of that has to do with the original subject I do not know. Perhaps you are just trying to deflect attention from your obvious lack of knowledge about UK pest control law?
  8. I used to sit on the servicing commitee of the BPCA, and had a hand in writing some of their codes of practice. At no point in time have the BPCA suggested that any cat found without a collar could be classified as feral. The code of practice (which is what a judge would use to base his judgement on if a defence of this nature was used) says that feral cats should be cage trapped so that they can be checked for microchips or other forms of identification prior to humane euthanasia by a qualified vetinary surgeon. Perhaps you would lke to try again?
  9. That is absolute rubbish, sorry. To suggest that any cat not wearing a collar is legally feral is total and utter nonesense, and posting that here to misinform people is irresponsible. You may have been a technician working for a national pest control company, but you obviously know feck all about UK law. If you want to actually quote the law which says that any cat not wearing a collar is feral, then feel free. I happen to know that you will not be able to because you are talking crap. Oh, and I've worked for two of the biggest pest control companies in the UK, but not as a
  10. Spot on. As for the other stuff; well, I've got nothing to prove. You lot carry on talking about killing cats, and in no time at all your words will come back to bite you on the arse.
  11. So start a petition! Regardless of the rights and wrongs of it, the fact is that the law protects cats in the UK. but this thread is about an incident that happened in Ireland I know that, but the OP described the incident as an accident. If dogs are properly stock broken then accidents shouldn't happen. The law may be different in Ireland, but there are plenty of UK contributors strutting their stuff on this thread.

  13. Nothing worse than a hare in yer tea.
  14. How do you identify a feral cat as opposed to someone's pet? I understand that the law may be different in Ireland, but in the UK cats are property and their owners cannot be held liable for them. In other words, cats can go where they please, and do as they please. It's too late to find out that your dogs have killed someone's pet after they've killed it. Better to be safe than sorry IMO.
  15. Having recall and being able to call a group of hounds off a hunt are two different things IMO. It's not unknown for someone to be able to call a dog off a hunt, although I'll admit that it's rare. BUT, training any dog not to hunt certain things (cattle, horses, sheep, poultry, cats for example) is basic stuff. And if in doubt, the dogs should not be running loose.
  16. I'm surprised the old 'brick' hasn't been on here with a claim to be able to catch hares by the hundred already.
  17. Sod it, lets go the whole hog and aim for a fifteen!
  18. Wow, 9 pages. We should have run a sweep.
  19. Here ye go Pork Chop. Read THIS excellent thread by the legend that is the DitchShitter.
  20. An excellent thread that should be pinned. Mods?
  21. Bunnies are breeding all year round down here in the South. I'm not sure how some of my rabbit contracts would feel if I suggested stopping to provide rabbits for next season. In my experience it doesn't matter how hard you hit them in the summer months; they simply breed more to fill the vacuum.
  22. I know that But, unfortunately, they are dragging everyone else down with their attitude. Oh, and I do believe that there are plenty of said 'doasyoulikeys' on here.
