  1. You've tried a winged crow? FFS.... What a stupid post. I expect this post is already quoted on one of the animal rights anti trapping sites. Moron.
  2. R. Docks

    guys

    fishfish is a nosey git..........
  3. I keep hearing about this 'wonder poison' that causes rats to seek out water, but everyone who mentions it is unable to name it. The fact is, there is NO rodenticide approved in the UK that has that effect on rodents. Good advice from Maltenby there; get in a professional and don't risk your health.
  4. Proof Reader. Proffession should read 'Profession'. Hard this reading and writing business, isn't it?
  5. If you read the OP properly, you will see that the poster is worried about non-targets, as they know they are in the area. A snare in this situation would be totally irresponsible, and it is very poor to advise using them in this case. Cage trapping would allow for any non-targets caught to be released unharmed. Snares are great in the right circumstances, but not in this case.
  6. You just let your race down, I hope everyone remembers this next time you're whining about how people think gipsys are scum ............ You just proved you are! Totally agree. Just look at this recent post: hard fecking work but you gorgers wounldnt know f**k all bout that would ya Hard work? What about the hard work the owner of the the wallet may have done to earn his or her money? Shocking thread, which shows some people for what they are.
  7. Another classic THL post: Is this an example of an 'honest' gypsy? This is no joking matter; theft is theft, and anyone who thinks this is anything other than theft should be ashamed of themselves.
  8. No honest person would need to ask.
  9. That's the one! Great stuff!
  10. Westons Scrumpy is nice, but my favourite is Westons Vintage (9%). Cheddar fill theirs with so much colourant and other crap that they have to make the alcohol content up with industrial alcohol. Used to like Hancocks, and Inches (in the pre white lightening days).
  11. I agree; which is why I stated that the law isn't right in my original post. Like many others, I get sick of all the local cats killing songbirds and crapping everywhere. I think that Topper is confusing UK law with US law, where his quote would be correct. By the way, don't rely on the police to give you correct legal advice! The law is the law; even if it is an ass, and for some contributors to come on here and blatently admit that they have broken the law is plain stupid. It always amazes me how thick some people must be to think that they are safe behind a forum user name.
  12. No. Dogs have a different legal status to cats. The owners of dogs are liable for the actions of their animals. Look on the bright side; you do not have to stop or report a road traffic accident involving a cat - unlike dogs.
  13. Some interesting facts here (link) . (italics added by me to highlight the point) Another legal quote: Also see here (link) for the opinion of a local authority.
  14. You say that it has been proven in court, can you post a link or reference to qualify that statement please? I'm afraid as previously stated, you are wrong. Cats are classified as property, and their owners are not legally responsible for their actions. As for checking each cat you think is feral; it is not a legal requirement, but is 'best practice' and has been used in court.
  15. Utter RUBBISH! Now don't get me wrong; I'm no cat fan and think the law is stupid..................... BUT: Cats are property, and the owners cannot be held liable for the actions of their property in law. FACT. A feral cat is one which is no longer owned by anyone (not just wandering away from it's owners property), and before it is humanely destroyed, you MUST be able to prove that it is genuinely feral. You cannot do that down the barrel of a gun, you have to catch the animal, scan it for microchips or other identification, and record that you have done so. If you do not c
  16. Yet. Give it time. A few THL members need to loose the 'couldn't give a feck' attitude IMO. This is a very public forum that ranks very highly on google. Lots of members seem to want bad publicity. When hunting is further restricted because of misinformation by our enemies, we'll all know who to blame! Some of the people in the hunting world are our own worst enemy. I remember now why I stopped logging in here.
  17. This thread seems to show just how bad THL is these days. Don't all the 'hard men' realise that anyone can read this forum? Type 'killing cats' into google, and you'll probably find a link straight into this thread. How does that make the hunting community look to the world at large? Think about it....... That's my opinion, now for some facts: Cats are property, and therefore, any harm done to them can be pursued for compensation. The owners of cats cannot be held liable for the actions of their animals (unlike dogs). It is only legal to kill feral cats after you have
  18. Unless someone can quote the exact legislation, it's NOT illegal. People keep talking about the 'vermin list' and no such thing exists these days. All the flora and fauna of the UK was listed in the W&C act, and effectively protected. Certain species were identified as being 'alien' and some others were listed as game. Schedule 14 (now replaced by a Statuatory Instrument) lists certain species which can be 'taken' by any authorised person, at any time.
  19. Schedule 9 of the W&C Act (as amended by SI)only lists non-native species which may not be released. The only legislation that would have applied is the Abandonment of Animals Act of 1960 which was repealed as part of the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Can anyone find a reference to the legislation (not an animal rights website) that states that it is illegal?
  20. I'm not sure where you got that information, but I don't think it's relevant in this case. Schedule 2, part 2 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 was amended in 1992 by Statutory Instrument 3010, which lists the following birds as being those which may be taken at any time by any authorised person. Those birds listed are: Crow Corvus corone Dove, Collared Streptopelia decaocto Gull, Great Black-backed Larus marinus Gull, Lesser Black-backed Larus fuscus Gull, Herring Larus argentatus Jackdaw Corvus monedula Jay Garrulus glandarius Magpie Pica pica Pigeon, Feral Columba li
  21. Given the racist nature of some of your recent posts (including calling me a 'paki lover'), I'm surprised you are still here to be able to ask the question.............
  22. How do you define 'indigenous'??? Would the grandchild of a polish WW2 fighter pilot count? What about the Gurkhas?
  23. The fact that some people feel strongly about this issue, is fine, but is THL the place for it? Surely the BNP etc have their own message boards? What really gets my goat is that not a day goes by without some mention of it on here. Whatever happened to the hunting life? I'm not burying my head in the sand (or snow, lol), but this is NOT the place for these discussions, which always degenerate anyway.
  24. This place just gets worse and worse. All this 'race hate' stuff needs to stop. It gives us all a bad name. As for this forum being a 'working mans forum'; I've never read such bollocks. Is there now some sort of 'class distinction' on THL? Will one of the membership criteria be that you have to live in a council house and claim benefits? One of the great things about hunting (and therefore THL) is that it is open to anyone, no matter where you live, how much money you have, what your accent is, or how you choose to worship (if at all). THL is losing good members, and one rea
