  1. I don't think he will ever be 100% in control of foreign policy if all of this stuff is down to him then it is true he has betrayed his supporters but I think there is more to all of this that we think or did he suddenly flipped into a globalist shill? I think it's one of those things that time will tell, obviously I didn't vote for him but I would never ever support anyone who thinks more war and bombs is the answer to the situation we're in with all the terrorism...it is just idiotic. Bombing Afghanistan doesn't make us safer when our governments then let their 'refugees' come here, pull

  3. If I was Julian Assange I would be sh*tting myself right now Reuters "CIA Director Pompeo calls Wikileaks a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors like Russia." At what point do you decided it's a good idea to go and buy a few years worth of canned food?
  4. Things have changed a hell of a lot since those days though, The EU changing in to a political entity for one and the rise of globalism another
  5. I don't see this as being Trump I see it as the people behind him. The pro Trumpers are all being pushed out, Flynn, Bannon and there was a woman recently demoted but I can't remember her name. Also another Trump favourite had his security clearance removed preventing him being on the JCS all of them were anti interventionist people. I'll see if I can dig out their names. What this shows to me is that it doesn't matter who gets in the White House, the policy will never change. I know there are people who don't like him, that's fine but look at Obama he was in the same situation. I
  6. The Taliban captured Sangin in March, that's the problem with insurgencies they just wait for our troops to leave and then move back in.

There is no way Russia would start any conflict though, their military is geared up for defensive war on their own soil and has been like that for decades. Their deployment in Syria has been an excellent propaganda coup for them and it's allowed them to showcase their new hardware which has horrified the pundits and some politicians who aren't in the loop. But still NATO has far more of everything, especially aircraft, than the Russians baring one thing, nukes where the Russians actually have more of them and they have probably been continuously modernised. I think the US knows they have the u
  8. I guarantee the story of it climbing the pram is utter bullshit. There's no way an adder could manage that even if it wanted to (it wouldn't), they're fecking terrible climbers. He clearly poked it then felt like a dickhead so made up some story where he was the hero. and that is exactly what I think happened. They are such shy animals and from what I've seen they don't move until they are disturbed. I almost stood on one once, I saw a bottle under my foot so side stepped to avoid treading on it and that's when I saw the snake curled up right next to the bottle. I thought it wa
  9. Slithering up a pram? Sounds a bit fishy to me They're not exactly bold animals are they, anyone think he did something a bit more stupid?
  10. Go to first post ... I was wondering the same I dont see any pictures
  11. Well the US racked up 6 trillion dollars debt for war in the middle east, I doubt they've got that back from oil from Iraq Personally I am also 100% against wars in those places, I said from day one it would result in insurgency and I was right. I'm not a peacenik or anything, I 100% support our armed forces but I would prefer they were used for our defence and kept as strong and sharp as possible and not wasted on wars we cannot win.
  12. Rightly in my view, it's murder on the streets nothing more. The other view, that terrorists are freedom fighters, is not a view I subscribe to. To mention the elephant in the room, some of what is notionally "anti-terrorism" or "anti-Islam" is simply the underlying aversion to "pakis and nig-nog" as someone put it dressed up as pseudo-concern for their fellow man. This tends to particularly be the case in the example of alt-right types on the internet. But that's the thing, it's seen as worse than murder on the streets, far worse. When we read about some poor f****r gettin
  13. Nik, at what point do the nationalist/anti-interventionists draw the line on, well, intervention. Is it only okay to deploy force to counter a direct threat to US territory? In genuine humanitarian cases? To protect a direct threat to an ally? To protect international trade routes? Do they really think that the US should remain absolutely inactive and let the rest of the world get on with it up until the point enemy airborne are dropping on US soil? Surely there is a line somewhere between the Bush agenda of overthrowing every uncooperative foreign state and say deploying force to counter

  15. p.s Trump confirms "we're not going in to Syria"
  16. Someone else floated a similar idea earlier in this thread but maybe these strikes were a message for the North Koreans. Jack Posobiec a smart guy and good journalist (also predicted the Syrian strikes with 75% certainty) claims he has a source that says they're going to take out the North Korean nuclear reactors and other facilities if they don't give up their nuclear program. He claims the attack could happen within days and this week and gives a 50/50 chance. He also claims that the intelligence agencies and the likes of MccMaster are feeding Trump information that North Korea are thin
  17. It's a bit too early to say Chris, I hope not
  18. A friend of mine (crazy unhinged German) had just done 2 months in the desert and spent the whole time stressing about not getting home for Xmas. The day before Christmas eve we finally got one of the Algerians to take over from him and he flew back to Gatwick. I can't remember exactly what happened but they messed his flight up and wouldn't let him board, knowing the guy I can well imagine that he got a bit upset and probably had a little bit of a rant, so the tw*t behind the desk presses a button, the cops arrive and he gets arrested and spends the night in the cell. Charming! They ge

  20. 100% for sure https://wikileaks.org/clinton-emails/emailid/18328
  21. Are we seeing the first wave of the side effects of Trump nationalism? It's good old Globalisation....nothing has changed from Obama, Clinton, Bush etc etc The nationalists are the most angry about this, it's quite funny how the MSM (which supported Clinton) and interventionist neo-cons seem to be praising him all of a sudden
  22. Shouldn't the Russians be concerned with how all of those Tomahawks managed to get through their missile defenses... It's pretty obvious to me the Russians made no attempt to shoot them down, why? I have no idea. Russian surface to air missiles are considered to be the best in the world or at very least on a par with US made systems because their military doctrine is focussed on fighting defensively. It's one of the things that seems a bit weird about the whole situation
  23. More entertaining but Threads was very realistic in how it depicted the build up and attacks especially the mention of a high altitude nuclear detonation which military planners in the cold war believed would cause a massive electro magnetic pulse to damage electronic equipment, thats why there is a bit in the film where cars wont start etc.
  24. As someone who used to fly a lot for work I have very little sympathy for the people who work for airlines so many of them are wankers. I know not all of them are bad but it seems to attract a mini-Hitler type of personality. I hate airports so much that I would rather drive for two days than fly somewhere on holiday and since my last overseas job 3-4 years ago I've not been to an airport.
