No builders or tree surgeons with subsidence experience?
  5. Aye the pockets is going to collapse very soon. I am looking forward to see if my prediction comes true, I always said when there is a dedal on Syria i.e. Saudi and Co give up then only then will an OPEC deal come. Today that deal has happened so lets see what happens
  6. What's it like in the UK at the moment regarding this? I'm seeing more & more here all the time.......do they not still cost a fortune to buy? It's the batteries that everyone forgets about, they don't last long and cost a fortune to replace....they don't factor that in to the cost of running when they go on about their economy. Battery disposal is also very bad for the environment and if we all switched to electric cars we would have a massive shortage in energy supply as our power stations wouldnt cope lol
  7. That's what I keep getting told but we'll see. Interesting times for those that are left. Iron ore/mining is another thing I have worked on and that f****r dropped like a lead balloon at the same time as Brent, LOL. Increasing oil prices will mean increasing inflation....they will parade their inflation figures around like some miracle boost to the economy....since the oil price drop was manufactured by Saudi I am curious how economists can take inflation figures seriously. Have you ever wondered the same? I was qualified as a Mining Geologist MSc from Camborne but the metal pr
  8. In a way oil is far too valuable to burn, there are thousands of products and chemicals that it's used in. I can't see demand for oil start shrinking for decades. Since coal fired power stations are all being shutr down and the fact that people don't like nuclear gas is left as the best and cleanest energy, I don't include green, I fail to see how we will ever keep up with demand just using wind and solar...plus the energy needs to be stored and how are they supposed to do that? Maybe one day but not in my lifetime
  9. I think the oversupply is bigger than that but it's the inventories that are the problem. It's going to take a while to bring them down. I swear to god I could almost cry if this happens. I didn't work for 8 months of this year, we've taken pay cut after pay cut for the work we do, most of our clients went bankrupt, I know loads of people who lost their jobs hell I even had to sell my house although ended up somewhere nice because of it. It's been one hell of a couple of years https://www.iea.org/oilmarketreport/omrpublic/ I had a look here earlier at the market surplus. S

  12. Depnds on what the money is needed for. I am not a fan of electrical stuff like Ipads or Xbox's for children...they rot the brain in my opinion. My daughter wants a dog...it was a deal I made with her to move here....now I'm in a hole and they aren't cheap lol EDIT: says me sat on my arse in front of a computer lol
  13. For the oil industry guys it looks like this sh*t is finally over. I'm cautious since all year they keep saying it but word is they're agreeing to 1.4 million barrels per day cut including Russia. For the non-oil guys.....fill your car, LPG tanks etc it will probably rise to $60 very soon.
  14. I do like chicken liver, we used to get it for breakfast when I was in Saudi....put on a good few pounds though so I imagine they're high in calories? After the total filth we had to eat in some places nothing bothers me. We used to get tiffin tins delivered with veg that was over cooked and cold, meat that looked like shoe leather it was absolutely disgusting. The most prized possession out there other than good coffee or chocolate was chilli sauce or Tabasco because enough of it would mask the taste. The 'lamb' which was probably mutton was so strong that I couldn't eat lamb for several
  15. A friend of mine I worked with was still having his wife cut the crusts of his sandwiches. When I took the piss he said "you trying to tell me they taste the same as the white bit.....?" Haha There is no hope for humanity when grown men are cutting their crusts off lol
  16. At least no one has admitted to cutting their crusts off or not liking the white of an egg so far
  17. I would have loved more than 2 kids, just to watch their characters form, sadly my purse strings didn't stretch further or I would have had another. We have a gap of 14 years between ours for the same reason!! I was dumb, one year gap between mine. I think it's better having small gaps. I am 2 years older than the middle brother, he's just over a year older than the youngest. We had a cracking time as kids....Well, I mean I certainly did beating them up, not sure how they felt about it ha ha

Yep that's the plan. The thing is is removing the tree likely cause more problems? If the roots rot away would that lead to more subsidence? Or should we leave it and live with it. The problem is that tghe garden wasn't taken care off for many years and it's overgrown, these trees were probably nice well manicured ones but have been left to grow. I read that Eucalyptus is one of the worst ones and they have shallow roots which grow quite far out since they need loads of water.
  19. My daughter old school was run by lefties, they were always sending letters home with a list of activities you would like them to do....one of them was being taught about sex and relationships! I always wrong in massive big letters NO! That started from the age of 7 Sickos......What kind of relationships were they going to mention...it's ok to have two dads or two mums?

I've got a massive Eucalyptus in the garden. From what I've read they can cause a lot of damage to foundations. We have a crack in the floor of one room on the same side of the house to the tree. At first I thought we had subsidence and needed underpinning but after some research I think this tree is the root of the problem (pun intended). So I can have it removed but what should I do about the damage? Obviously I am going to need to make sure this is the cause of the crack but I seems likely to me. Would removing the tree cause further damage when the roots rot away?
  21. The worst type are those trying to pass childhood food hang-ups off as 'food allergies' haha.... My daughter in law was at a birthday party with one of my grandchildren, last year. Some cakes or some such were passed around, and one of the young mums asked if there were nuts in them. She was, naturally, asked if her child was allergic - she replied "We don't know, but we don't want to take any chances...." Hahaha..... I mate of mine you used come round my house for dinner for many years & he claimed an 'intolerance' to peppers & broccoli (we eat a lot of them in our house)....
  22. how can your misses be a vegi....yet, eats fish.... It's quite common amongst them....technically they're pescitarians but who cares about the name I think they're just fussy b*astards with some kind of food phobia Fish don't have feelings.lol I agree with the stupidity of it all but here's the thing though...When I met her she was a vegan, just imagine what a pain in the arse that was! Over time she has mellowed a lot and doesn't care really. She will prepare meat for us and I've even seen her taste gravy. So I don't give her any crap and she doesn't complain when I walk in the house
