  2. how many people a year are killed by the actions of drunk or dangerous drivers, do they try to ban cars? no. this kind of thing makes my blood boil, WHEN WILL THE DO GOODERS REALISE ITS THE ACTIONS OF PEOPLE THAT KILL, NOT THE BITS OF WOOD OR METAL THEM SELVES. FECKING DO GOODERS ARE A FECKING NIGHTMARE, IF ITS NOT ONE THING ITS ANOTHER. we only have one life, if were responcable we should be able to live it and not be bracketed by those who choose to live there lives in other ways.
  3. .... .... .... SINDASOX VICTOR. be carefull that you make sure your locking off the knots. try and follow what i have typed below. this is the same as on the site only explained differantly. 1, tie your end of the string to the ring 2, bring the twine down over the front of the mesh gage 3,bring your needle UP through the ring and pull the gage tight to the ring 4,bring the twine down again LOOSLY OVER THE GAGE 5, pass the needle back UP through the ring NOW THIS BIT IS IMPORTANT AS THIS LOCKS YOUR KNOT IN PLACE 6, pass your needle through the loose l
  4. no matter what size of twine your using if your not locking the knots they will continue to slip. Are you knitting direct on to the ring or using a large split ring to start with? and what type of knots are you using? if you would rather do this on the pm or over the phone then pm me your phone number :11: and i will see if i can help EDITED TO ADD: go on everyone, call me an idiot, ive just seen hes in Oz so a phone calls not the answer :stupid: :wankerzo4:

  7. JD, you lucky bugger, we dont have barble in the rivers round here, not the free bits anyway. Not ever having caught one i wouldnt know what they fight like, is it as good as folk say? if they fight half as hard as river carp then i know why folk persue them. What lb test curve was the rod? good fishing
  8. The best summer glug i have ever used is one i made myself, and dead cheap as well. you will need 1, A tin of pineapple rings in syrip 2, A tin of golden syrip Boil the pineapple rings in their own syrip till nice and soft, once soft blend to a mushy pulp, the finer the better. Pour golden syrip into a container with enough space to add a little boiling water. Stir the golden syrip and boiling water till nice a runny and add the mushed pineapple rings and sryip and give a good mixing. Allow to cool and store in a container out of direct daylight. WARNING. you must remove the lid
  9. i use the hair rig with a sliding hair in a blow back fashion to form an anti ejection rig as im fishing the rivers. and seeing as these fish have never been caught before they are very weary of baits and such like so they suck in and blow out food stuffs a few time before swollowing it. You say carp fishing is too complicated, only because most carpers have fallen into the trap of believing what the tackle manifactures tell them in the magizines, lets face it they have brainwashed us for years that a carp has such brains and will learn from what it sees and feels and that a carp can sence wha
  10. [quote oh ma da geein me the dollar fur a dug SAY WAHT??? Ive been fishing the rivers for carp this year and not doing to bad on home made boilies, last session i had 18 takes and landed 15, biggest being a 12.5 common. not a massive fish but on a river they dont half fight. All the boilies i make are made from simply ingrediants bought from shops in town, not one coming from a tackle shop and cost about £3 to make 2-3kgs of boilies. just two of many caught on home mades perhaps im just tight but i make all my own rigs aswell Maty one important thing t
  11. BEST THING YOU COULD DO IS TAKE A PIC, POST IT ON HERE SO WE CAN ALL HAVE A BLOODY GOOD LAUGH ive 2 boys who are going through the long hair and unwashed faze, its great, it gives me a chance to take the pi$$ out of them on a day to day basis. im getting my digs in now as when im old and lost the plot im sure there going to even the score. the youngest recons hes going to get me a wheel chair with a squeeky wheel. the other recons hes going to super glue me to the commode :11:
  12. thats a cracking looking net there netrigger if that dont catch and hold rabbits nothing will. with the crossbraid salvadges it will close in jig time. The new owner will certianly be pleased with there new net, as always.
  13. Im now in the process of setting up a long term deal with a courier. Im just shopping around as we type looking to get a good service from the off rather than have to change. just matter of seeing what they can do for me.
  14. Anyone who runs a company that deals with posting goods to customers will know how important reliability is in this modern world. Somthing i try to do is honour the contract of sales and deliver the good puchased in good time. This has been something that on a few occossians i have not been able to do to a few of my customers, some of you on here, THL. Looking back at the amount of either lost or mispalced parcles i have sent, the number is at a level that has become intollerable because not only is it leaving you the customer waiting for your nets and goods, it has left me out of pocket a
  15. a mad welsh man in speedos, what a sight anyhow, thanks to whoever let him know i was asking about him, hes been in touch and it seems all is indeed well with the old sod
  16. 45,000 words and 130 colour pics and they rip your arm off and no self publishing isnt the best way to go. let a good publisher do what they do best, and that is publish. self publish and its a case of muggins doing all the reviews, the marketing ect ect. as regards the one book does all approach they view it as 13 or so subjects in one book that will only touch on each species rather than a book on one that will cover it compleatly. Also to cover each method on each species in one book would make the book huge if it was to be done properly, the re-sale cost of such a book due to the co
  17. anyone know whats happed to this fine fellow? is he still a member or just having a break from the inter net thingy as ive sent him a few pm's and not getting any replys.
  18. just read hooking the big un not about fishing at all...........
  19. wont be any good off road then without a CD player
  20. the quotes of 4z and 6z come from a need to identify types of twine used in net making for the fishing industries when we, the UK joined the common market. Most of europe was using KG as its denomination of weight where by the uk was still in lbs. so to avoid any confussion with our EU counterparts the fishing industry devised the simple number rating, 4, 6 etc. As has been rightly said by ianrob it is Z NOT OZ, oz is something you use when baking a cake. The figure Z comes from the way in which the loom moves, in this case in a Z fashion whilst the filloments of material are extruded. h
  21. I copied and pasted this from another site, should tell you all you need to know, good luck WHAT IS A ZIG? A zig rig is simply a way of presenting a static buoyant bait at any depth you require in the water column, either by using a long hook link straight off the lead, or by using an adjustable zig rig, which allows you to alter the depth as and when you require without breaking the rig down. A float fished bait would be impractical for anything other than short lengths of time, whereas a zigged bait can be placed on an alarm and left indefinitely without wind or surface tow aff
