    Dont mind if the dog is right on top off the rabbit but not if dog gets turn rabbit get bit off gap and the dog still smashes the hedge. Few my mates have dogs like this and there more in then out and there best mate is fella called VET

    The clip on you tube most dogs are jackers stopping at most off the ditches yea they kill them but you have to catch them. Why dont they run single if there dogs are that good a wee cub out run two dogs and 2 fellas :toast:

    Tell you truth am not into numbers when it comes to rabbits and hares just enough for the freezer does me. Am happy with 10 rabbits a night and 1 hare on a day out same with fox but everyone is different . Welcome to THL and good 1st topic be good here everyone's reply

    STABBA when did that start the donate thing???? its been in force a good few months now iceman mate..apparantley they thought it would stop the peddlers Owe right was trying put something up few months ago wont not let me so l send Darcy message thinking he thought l was a peddler or did l do something wrong :doh:

    Yes you will catch lots more but your dog will be lied up more in the kennel with the injury's it will pick up. Rather have a dog that l can take out then one sitting in the kennel doing nothing. At the end off the day its only a rabbit there going be another 10 in the next field. Dont mind a dog stopping at hedge having at listen then going in but not at 100mph your just asking for trouble.

    Would say all (F,D,H,R) but it has be your own dog. Watching other dogs is good but does not give you the buzz like your own dog them.A pup you have spend years and months working on and it all paying off

    i agree mate, but we are talking dogs for hunting fens,farm fields etc. not grave yards and local parks :boogie: Never seen a hare in a graveyard or in a park but know few good rabbit setts

AND Bragg up a man l have never meet????PL l just don't like people talking down a man and his dog people have not seen run simple as that.If was your dog l did the same but cant wait to hear about the matches next year win lose or draw your still not going Your right there because size all them heads in the van or car there be no room :toast: .     If you where starting from the start l try get myself a whippet x grey some thing that is really good on the lamp and out with ferrets one which can turn and as a good mouth.Then go get a service off a full saluki something that is out 2 3 days a week over the winter months and killing plenty off hares and has good sett off lungs on him

    What is to old???? There is need to put any dog down when they get on in years.People should know when there dog is getting on a bit and bring a pup though when your older dog is getting on a bit.For example my bitch was 5 1/2 years old so l breed her and kept a pup back she now 6 1/2 and brought the pup though for me the pup now 1 1/2 . When the pup is 5 1/2 l do the same all over again.And my old bitch when she does not have it any more or is feeling the strain she be sprayed and brought in doors and live out the rest her life in the house with the kids.     Surely there is two types off poachers???? The one that just takes enough that it wont be noticed. Then there is the the one who is like a fox in a hen house or a cat in a pigeon hut and can not get enough and prop half will go to waste???

    Your quote to the best of my knowledge refers to nearly all well known day walkers few have land and travel miles to lincs to walk land and leave what they kill I have found on a many occasions heaps of dead hare.When I,v asked through the grapevine who,s been in the area it,s always a well known name and their hangers on .None take their catches home .Even if they have permission they cannot be arsed to carry an air rifle so as to have a reason for taking them home . your right mate its a great shame about guys leaving hares,,,, but this is a new thing realy, and down to the government

    The way l look at it you have had your dog or bitch from 8 weeks old it as giving you some off the best days you can remember in your life. They always give you something to talk about good or bad and have put everything they have had to please you. Why would you put a dog down or give it away a dog that has made you glad you took up hunting in the 1st place is beyond me. A dog that has did all this deserves a place in your kennel or fire place when there to old to hunt

    Could not till yea but must work was in a little town called Downpartick about half hour from Belfast could not believe how easy it was to get so many birds in a short piece off time. Hope l have not started something here be few tablets going missing out off the mas tablets drawer

    When breeding a bitch you should be looking to better the bitch so look for a sire that has everything your bitch does not then you get the pup your looking
