  1. Bridgend mate, what about you? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sunny Pontypool . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Get much action up there Dai? If so, I wouldn't mind an outing....
  2. Pop a locator on the workers Dai, apart from decreasing the odds of losing a ferret (s), you get a far more accurate idea of their position in the burrows...
  3. Where in Gods country are you Hywel..? Dave <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bridgend mate, what about you?
  4. Well, I had my first trip of the season over the weekend, Travelled from S Wales to some mates in the West country (sorry no pics). Had an excellent day, bagging 15 rabbits out of a possible 20  Unfortunately, the five that got away were down to a combination of missed bolt holes and slipped nets... Early season cobwebs hey! On a more positive note, the bunnies were bolting fairly well with only two digs . In addition, I introduced a newbie to the sport, whom you will likely see pop up on this board in the future.....

  7. Hi Keeps, I take it from your pics that your terrier is a Plummer? If so, how do you rate them as rabbiting dogs? I'm considering getting a terrier for bushing alongside a lurcher....
  8. Thanks for the responses guys I'll take your advice on board
  9. I'm considering sometime in the future, getting a terrier to do some "bushing" for rabbits alongside a lurcher. What breeds of terrier would you suggest being the most suitable? :search: I have to say, I do like Lakies and Patterdales, but are they best suited to foxes?? Any assistance appreciated...
  10. Your call, as only you know your workers, but if in doubt always seek qualified advice
  11. Nice pics Keeps! Looks like you had a good day...
  12. Nice looking dog Swansea Jack... At least from here on he's with the right person! Good luck... not that you'll need it!
  13. They say anything up to 7 days. But remember, the longer you leave it hang, the stronger the taste is. Depends on your own personal preference, but I leave mine for just a couple of days....
  14. Guys, I'm looking for three young Jill ferrets to work next season. Can any of you help? They must be of a good working strain and preferably albinos. I normally work the smaller strain of ferret and this would be a bonus. I'm going to the Midland GF on the 18th of Sept and could pick them up there... Any help would be appreciated!

  16. Greetings Swansea Jack! With a user name like that, I presume you're from the same part of S. Wales as myself? Do you do much with the rabbits or do you stick with Reynard?

  18. Thanks for the help peeps!
  19. I'm looking to buy a book on Lurchers (as a beginner), where I can pick up knowledge on training for use as a ferreting dog... What are the best books about for training a ferreting lurcher??? :search:
  20. Cheers guys, some very whitty responses there, in addition to the more informative ones! :11:
  21. As I'm new to lurchers, could anyone explain the difference between a "rough coated" and a "broken coated" lurcher? :search: Just seen an advert for a litter and wanted to know the difference......
