This might sound a little controversial but why do knobs like this never get their dogs stolen? It'd probably be in the dogs best interest if it did get nicked!! Going back to the original post, if it's true you're the most pathetic bloke alive! but it looks like you're just attention seeking.......which makes you even more pathetic! Fools like this should be banned, they're just wasting everyones time documenting their own cases of animal abuse and coming up with silly stories!

Sounds like a right pain in the ass! maybe she'll calm down after a bit then? I wouldn't cull to be honest because it sounds like it's probably a result of past neglect, maybe given plenty of grub she'll realise she ain't gonna starve? Easier to leave food in the hutch in winter aswell so that might help?

When my mum was growing up it was rare to get black people living in the village where they lived. One day a black bloke called Sammy Peach moved in just down the road. I would say don't rush it, don't take them out as soon as they stop nipping. Give them a good few weeks of decent handling without them biting before you even consider taking them out......I don't think you've got much of a problem to be honest, they're just in that stage inbetween being biters and being tame and you're just having the odd slip up.

sounds like a silly question, but had you washed your hands since handling the rabbit? or since handling any other food of any type? My hobs easy going but I'd never handle my jill after handling food. Sounds like your hand might have smelt of either food or rabbit? Eating rabbit wouldn't make a tame ferret nasty in answer to your question.

I'm a bit confused by this thread to be honest. Obviously it's a shame your ferret's hurt, but what the hell are you doing throwing the food in and slamming the door quickly, are you scared of your ferrets or what? Even if the ferret aggressively snatches food, if you're putting a rabbit in just hold the rabbit by its back end and the ferret will grab it and pull away from you, same with chicken legs or anything like that. I really don't see what you'd need to shut the door quickly??? If you can't feed a ferret without it grabbing hold of you then you don't know how to deal with ferrets, s

This can only be answered by you knowing the dog. For me and my last pup, that would of been too much, im in no rush, BUT for your pup that may be fine hmm...i'll keep my eye on her and maybe replace the odd lamping session with ferreting just in case.

if shes fit it will be no prob well she sleeps like a log when we get back but doesn't flag when we're out and is always raring to go.

what would people say was a sensible amount for a 14 month old? I've been lamping or ferreting for about 3 hours every other day with a 90 min mooch on the days inbetween....thats not overdoing it is it? we're lamping on foot so I'd say she probably getting no more than 15-20 slips in 3 hours when lamping.
