Aye .. I put it down in watering can.. If its really bad put it down and scrub with hard brush, but normally it don't need that.. Its better than weed killer if you ask me -

Sorry mate never realised your in USA Depends on the land/fields your working.. Over here I personally don't catch many daytime rabbits unless its in rough ground - seed beds - fell ground.. Rabbits have to be there to be caught .. Most spots I go, they don't sit far from home.. If I never used lamps and ferrets. I would come home with the odd one & likely blank most days I get them sat out in stuff like this.... They have to hit the open and are often far from a set.. Some times I think they live on top and in the walls as I don't see many sets.. But

Get out at night with a lamp. Bunny will travel further out to feed at night. Ideally get between them and the bushes they head for Any daytime tricks? No night hunting with lights here. Aye get a ferret

Good on you pal There was "apparently" a litter of that breeding a few year back out of Raffles.. JY or Albert would know who bred um.. I got offered one but was not really listening when the lad was talking.. How old is it ??

no not me self, but you would think it would a very good x, with bags of stamina on both sides, and plenty of prey drive as well. Maybe if the dam was the collie and the sire the coursing dog, you might have more chance of a pup, as coursing bloke wouldnt keep this type pups from his dam, just use his sire for the right cash. Would be interesting.. Folk like first cross collie greys.. Wonder how a first cross collie - saluki would turn out... Like you say in theory it should have some good traits stamina, feet , intelligence and hunting / prey drive.. I have a

What other chapters does the book have? It's a good article !! -
Must admit. I have looked on his web page in the past and the pups and adult dogs look healthy. I would be more tempted to get a Hancock blooded dog of working lads rather that for him himself. Seen a few type ratcher lurchers too . They were decent made animals that filled a freezer or two !!

Not to turn this in to a Hancock hating spree or anything but how many pups does he sell in a year? There seems to be a few about but not as many as I would imagine for a commercial business... Like the look of that one rake about !

Sold now sorry buddy -
I am with you on that bud.. Some of my bits are varied.. Some bits rough ground with stone walls and rolling hills.. A good hunting dog with not much pace will knock up the numbers day or night.. Then some bits have super charged rabbits where a fast dog and a long slip are required.. The faster ones seem more capable to the varied task.. where a slower type just would not get on terms with its game.. Horses for courses.. Some cracking collie crosses about..

I don't think its that bad mate.. Youngest one will be ready to enter next season and first one should be up and away knowing its job... I don't think pups are that hard.. Shorts walks by themselves bit of basic work.. Two young dogs of the same age yeah but being over a year apart not to much hassle.. I would keep them separate supervised play in the house and garden.. Separate walks big dog will just skittle a young pup.. Happened to me on a few occasions.. I you think you will struggle, just concentrate on one.. I am lucky my lass, will walk dogs and play-t

Some canny looking dogs and interesting topic... Has anyone ever seen or known of a working collie going over a line bred saluki lurcher... Pictures and a tale would be good ...

Lot of the land we walk is keepered or some sort of rough shoot. Least if we bump into some one we look professional. I don't mind wearing tweed I ain't keen on that real tree lot of chavs round here wear it with trackies looks awful if you ask me. That's why I don't wear it , I don't want folks thinking I am like them. When knocking for permission we go looking like country gents... We still get loads of no's but you have to think dressing smart helped swayed the yes's. Each to there own.

I do but I like to go aboard.. The kennels require up to date booster and kennel cough .. I don't mind spending the cash on the dogs.. Mine are worth it

You will be in for fun and games if it's never seen stock or ferrets before... I would not show it any work mate, till it's doing the basics and is steady around stock.. If it's not been broken to stock you need to introduce it them in a controled manner. Keep your dog on a lead and correct him if showing intrest in them. Take it slowly. Once you think he's not going to pile in to them step it up. I get mine in the sheep make them sit, then walk away making them stay then I call them in a reward. That's when he has a choice to chase them - he should know it's wrong and come to your c
