    Took Ted and one of the ferrets for a Boxing day poach this morning in search of some pug meat. Was only out for an hour and managed 3 nice rabbits, one in a purse net the other 2 fell to the spade.

    I use longnets and a little terrier in our orchards, a combination that over the years consistantly produces good results. Often overlooked orchards are in my opinion the best ferreting there is.

    yes but never would and i would say 99.9% of people on here wouldnt as the ferrets teeth are there defense it would be like us fighting with our hands tied behind our back you just never know what will be down the hole mink stoat weasles ferral ferrets oh and bunnys If you lose it it will starve to death

    Me and Tony had another full day down the orchards doing a couple of roadside hedgerows. The rabbits weren't playing ball at all and would not budge so I spent most of the day playing the banjo. Most of the digs were pretty shallow but the last one of the day was a five footer. 18 from the first hedgerow and 26 in total all good healthy rabbits. The only down side was that Tony suffered a savage attack from an irate rabbit but he soon recovered and over powered it pinning it down with a half nelson, so be careful out there lads................     Did a full shift in the orchards today and hard work it was too. We spent most of the day on the spade with 17 of the 21 rabbits we caught being dug to. The ferrets were worth their weight in gold and worked relentlessly all day long. A good enjoyable day all the same..........

    The weather was looking grim last night but when I got up this morning it was blowing a gale but the sun was shining. I was on me tod with no dogs just my two jills and the longnet so I decided to do a few easy buries. The rabbits were reluctant to bolt to begin with and the first having to be dug to, got a steady trickle there after and ended with 8 nice healthy rabbits and a promise of rabbit stew in the week............................

    Not been getting the good numbers we had last year down this way Brimmer but looks like your still getting amongst them 5ft dig phew!!!!!!!!!! my locator only goes to 3ft

    The later MK3s have a pin pointer on, and the collars are different colours I think.
