jesus ,it left the whippet standing ,and did'nt look to be trying lol Aye, but in fairness, I've seen quicker whippets! I've a 23" Saluki bitch here that can and does stay ahead of anyone of our lurchers but she wouldn't get a look in against a typical performance bred whippet over a short distance.
-
did you watch the vid after that one? LMAO!!! :clapper: Excellent lol Pop's I reckon you can strike labradors off the list.
-
Any of the whippet types, but it doesn't always work out that way......

There are good and bad in all populations, what are peoples thoughts about the amount of Brits that have colonized foreign land and even taken over control of foreign lands, are we in any sort of position to complain when it happens to us?

Another incident with a neighbor's dog in our garden
Meerihunter replied to Meerihunter's topic in General Talk
Thanks for all the replies everyone, I saw the neighbor tonight after work, his wee dog is feeling better today (I could hear the wee sod barking!) he is being OK about it today though I can still sense him hoping I'm going say I'll cover the vet bill but I'm not, I've been overly generous in past and folk starting pushing things more if they thing the are going to get money out of it. I've ordered a heap of timber so I'll just re place the whole fence for my own peace of mind, I'd rather do that than have the hassle to be honest. My old dog should'nt have to deal with that kind of nonese -
Another incident with a neighbor's dog in our garden
Meerihunter replied to Meerihunter's topic in General Talk
They just let their dog wander around where ever they like, the other neighbor is the same they just let their collie crap all over the place usually right outside our gate, For a time it was jumping our gate and coming into our garden on a few ocassions it just made it out the garden before our dogs made contact. Again I had sort the gate at my expense like I've nothing better to do with my spare time. It's only a matter of time before the get killed on the road out the front the way they are going let alone being killed by my dogs. -
Another incident with a neighbor's dog in our garden
Meerihunter replied to Meerihunter's topic in General Talk
I'm glad you are all thinking along the same lines as me, the guy was making out it it was my problem to start with but I think/hope he realized it not my fault if his come into our garden. The other thing is my old SalukiX has never attacked another dog in his life unless in self defence so it looks to me that his dog came into our garden and attacked my 12yr SalukiX before the beddieX got involved. Not only that but he probably had to give our beddieX a good kicking get him to let go of his terrier. Luckily for him I was at work with my Saluki's otherwise they would of killed the te -
Today while I was still at work the neighbors jack russell got into our garden and our BeddieX and my ancient SalukiX well and truly nailed it, this is the 3rd time (the other 2 times it was another neighbor) this has happened each after each prior incident I've 'upgraded' my fence at my expense and even paid a vets on the first incident. My question to everyone reading is; What would your dogs to do in the same situation? Should I be responsible for fencing my garden to ensure small dogs can't get in even though my fencing is geared towards my larger dogs? How many would pay

You might like the look of them but you wouldn't want mine, they are nothing but trouble lol! loads of dog I really like the look of on here, but I'd have Saluqis Tazi or any of Vladimirs Tazi's especially his bitch Adel.
-
All I'm saying is things aren't always as they seem. If samra was a more typical Saluki colour there wouldn't be half as many question her
-
With all due respect that bitch may well be more of a Saluki than anyone elses Saluki on here.
-
The back two are mine, the front one is out of my bitch. Their coursing ability is pretty much the same as you would find in alot of SalukiXs with some better than others. The fact that pures have featured in the forley cups says it all IMO.

She is the spit of her father in that pic.

I just heard from a friend in Russia that one Taigan that she bred and 3 laikas were killed on a recent boar hunt, they got too far from the hunters and got into a fight with wolves they where all found dead including 2 wolves.

Not lurchers but they can jump, 7 foot wall easy. A video showing saluki's jumping.

It's truly shocking state of affair with all these dogs being stolen. I had travellers stop today while I was roading my 2, they may well of been decent sorts but it still leaves you feeling a little uneasy even though mine are never anywhere without me. Surely with the amount of lads on here a fairly sizable squad could brought together in any given area to retrieve dogs in such cases. Strength in numbers, that what the travellers themselves rely on. Hope you get them back.

What a nightmare, it's getting the balance right keeping her calm and minimizing the chance of her re-injuring it. Have you got a portamag? That would help speed up the healing were you closer you could of taken mine till you get her sorted. Best of luck with her Regards Mark

Excellent stuff no stopping her now she knows her calling in life, mine all self entered by 5 months and never looked back. Just keep it steady and you'll have a real handy bitch. Regards Mark

Yes the Kazakh dogs (or more specifically the Almaty type) are little shorter thicker set, ideal for knock about hunting (as oppose to Coursing) over rough, varied terrain and quarry ideal for my type of hunting but perhaps not specialized enough for real open terrain hare coursing. The bitch is a different type to Steve's Almaty type though she is more like your typical Saluki and I've great things about the sire also so they should make for some more than decent coursing dogs.
-
Hi Jay, I don't know of anyone else other than show breeders up here sorry. I'll certainly not be breeding again for several years.
-
Ameerah = Princess it's abit similar to your emeer though. How about Farah = Joy
-
Sorry His Wife as Chartpolski said Tepe Gawra is a place in Iraq and the name of J Burchards line of Salukis. I thought the sire was a Saluki from J Burchards Tepe Gawra line rather than a Kazakh Tazi. I stand to be corrected though.
-
Lovely pups aren't they! The Sire is a Tepe Gawra dog though isn't it rather Kazakh lines and the bitch uzbek lines I thought? Had they been Kazakh lines I would of made enquiries about importing one from Steve. Regards Mark
