    my uncle keeps about 15 hens for laying, he has never bought laying pellets, he only buys growers pellets for his young birds, he feeds veg peelings bread fish skins fruit veg mouldy cow provin, and he gets bundles of eggs. if you have a big grassy area you could make a movable pen and they will get most of their food from the grass, insects gras etc, and would only need a few handfuls of pellets/grain a day, it is possible, just not when you read it in books

    the stag does not have scaly leg, he has grown legs like that over time, and as people know scaly leg is very infectious yet every other bird he has been with or lived with or been around has not got it, therefore not scaly leg. in some genuine asils it is known to be a characteristic of ageing in the cocks, their legs just become like this. not scaly leg as nothing else has it. and that cock is not pale faced, he is old pale faced naturally. notice the pair live in the same shed next to him, yet they are not pale faced, as they do not have red mite, neither does the cock. i suggest you learn

    i was talking about the swelling of the face being a genuine characteristic of a pakistani asil. the *pullet (thought you might be able to tell age from picture from 30 years experience, sorry i was wrong ) is bred from genuine braz and the father got sold to some travelers for a relatively high price and they are very happy with the bird. so have you kept the austrolorp crosses in your profile picture for over 30 years then?

    what protein and other nutritional requirments should i be looking for in my dry dog food for my 16 week old first cross beddy whippet? i have been told you dont need more than 21% protein, but i have seen almost 30% and seen as low as 7%. so what should i be aiming for for the pup? and other things such as fat and fibre? cheers

    i would say brazilian is a "type" rather than a breed, ie everyone will be different, like jack russels, so there is bound to be variation within them , but i agree the tail is just too high to class it as a variation
