  1. never said she was experienced. i meant that course was spectacuar and hard, not the whole day ferreting. she was tied up at majority of bolts as she is a beating dog. Ok fella, just read this bit wrong then, good going. i wouldnt hesitate to guess an experienced lurcher would struggle with just meant it was a tricky course, that a lurcher would of struggled with, never mind a lab. i edited above.
  2. never said she was experienced. i meant that course was spectacuar and hard, not the whole day ferreting. she was tied up at majority of bolts as she is a beating dog. was maybe taking the piss a bit, but it impressed me but was a very hard course for her in my opinion. not even my dog but think shes great.
  3. had a day on one of charlie's permo's, which consisted of grouse moor and reclaimed heathland, that both the rabbit and sheep were responsible for. the gamekeeper was very keen on reducing the rabbit numbers as they are destroying his heather and that is consequently affecting the numbers of grouse. this was the type of land that we were dealing with, which was very easy to net, but was very hard as there is so many hidden bolt holes. we must of lost as many rabbits as we caught due to these holes. first warren of the day, 3 out of here and i think we lost 2? top
  4. everything you have said is applicable with my bitch pup too. looks a stunner, good luck.
  5. robbie blake in a burnley shirt, first game of the 2009-10 season in the premier league, against the shitty Man United lost my voice that night, was the things dreams are made of UTC!
  6. fair enough on the thinking it was a shamo "thing", but when you look at shamos from around the world and manipulated for different styles, they are like jack russels, not two the same and some short legs, and some long. but on the gamecock thing, since when is a shamo always a gamecock? not here its not always, anyway.
  7. genuine question, do you honestly see a difference betwee a dales rabbit and any other, or was it said in jest?
  8. wished id answered my b*****d phone now, bloody flat battery! well done anyway, get many digs?

  10. Longer and out of proportion for what exactly? for a shamo :fool: looks a bit short to me. A shamo ? He aint a shamo PJ. well my apologies to you and mez, was a presumption due to the shamos posted a while ago. what is he then?
  11. Longer and out of proportion for what exactly? for a shamo :fool: looks a bit short to me.

  13. after looking at this again....this is a genuine question im not being a prick..... but are his legs longer and look out of proportion in the pic? or is he more "squatted" than his normal stance would dictate? serious question again im not trying to stir shit or anything. top looking bird by the way.

  19. this is what i think, but try telling that to the rest of my family! we have a pet dog here and he simply MUST have dry food down all the time, god forbid he hasnt had it down for an hour he must be starving. it pisses me off as my pup is constantly grazing on his and she doesnt fully eat her meals of raw which i prepare for her, so i thought if there must be food down it may as well be something decent i have been telling my family this for ages but will they listen no.
  20. YES I HAVE DONE A SEARCH. but cant find anything answering what i want. i want a decent dry food to compliment the raw feeding im doing, she just has it to nibble at when she pleases then gets her raw as a meal. she is a ferreting dog, first cross bed whip. what to go for, redmills, chudleys racer, dr johns what is best????? i think i read attack fell terrier say redmills turned his dog into a mess, so unsure of that, is chudleys greyhound racer the best to go for? cheers
  21. this may seem like a stupid question but... when people talk about road walking their dogs fit, do you let the dog "pull" so the back legs are really pushing, as i cant see any other advantage in doing it otherwise, and i always thought it was considered bad manners to have a pulling dog cheers
  22. my first cross beddy whippet is 17 inches and is becoming good dog (i think ) i dont think you will catch as much as a "proper" lurcher, but would be good for squatters i think, imo. as long as he has the drive why not? if hes broken to ferrets i think thats your biggest hope of some sport. good luck
