  2. wonderfull times! thats the way to bring up children, i taught both my son and nephews to fish and they all love it.one story comes to mind seeing your pictures of when my son was about your grandsons age and we were fishing a local lake me in one swim my boy in the next, he got tangled so we changed swims so that i could sort his gear out. in the time it took me to sort his gear out he landed two lovely big bream on my gear in my swim!i took a picture which was displayed in the tackle shop who owned the lake for ages, happy days and tight lines,cheers plum !
  3. very interesting pictures mate, i love mooching about such places. i,v been in the house listening to ipswich town getting beat by norwich and then watching england getting beat by ireland, i should have taken the dog out ! cheers plum !

  6. thanks for the replys lads i don,t understand the technical stuff but get the jist of what your saying. i have a fac rated pre charged rifle at the moment but would like a tuned springer for places that i can,t use the fac and really just for a bit of fun! cheers plum !

  9. i like that alot leethedog i wish i,d have thought of it and actually last week when just me and the rough coated dog in the pics. were ferreting a rabbit bolted the other side of the hedge, i excitedly stumbled through the hedge whilst the little dog held onto the rabbit in the net. i eventually reached down to grab the rabbit only to see it wriggle out of the net and away, i swore at the dog (i had to blame someone !) and told her she,d better catch it ! she did, she was happy, i was happy,happy days!the four rabbits we caught made wonderfull rabbit pies, that why i go ferreting.cheers plum

  14. well done lads and really well done the lab ! i once ferreted some rabbits out of a big old industrial yard where one of the blokes working there had a big old lab wondering around, the dog followed me round all morning taking a great interest in the rabbits and the ferrets and i thought then that the first cross lab/grey would make a decent ferreting/mouching dog.cheers plum !
  15. i was watching jackdaws checking out some chimneys this morning as i sat in traffic, we were killing rabbits at christmas that were carring young! what can you do ?. cheers plum !
  16. cheers boys, yes it,s one of my favorite bits of land we go on with great veiws of the suffolk countrside ! we,re very lucky because my freind rents the land for grazing and we,re the only one,s with a key to get on there. we only do it a couple of times a year and on the day the pics were taken me, my boy,my three nephews, the two dogs and three ferrets bagged 15 healthy rabbits between us in a morning, we missed a few but what fun we had !! cheers plum !

  20. i have to agree with gaz when he says that an alrounder should be a moocher/ferreter/ companion/busher/work to the gun etc. thats what i,d like from my next dog anyway, cheers plum !

  23. actually i use my little beddy/whippet on a beating at the moment and she does not a bad job ! but she won,t retreive and i would like a dog that i can shoot over and use for ferreting etc. i suppose i need a dog that is easy to train ! lol !
