    No one is making excuses. The manager admits he's made mistakes. The players admit they've played poorly. The fans know that, but there's little point traveling across Europe to sit in a stadium depressed. People disagree with him having a go at the fans, they don't play on the pitch. People know we don't have good players and our used to be good players are over the hill, no amount of mentality change will change that before the Italy game tomorrow. People disagree with him and his confrontational attitude waiting for one of the players to have a go back at him, what's the point in that?

    Yes, he left the training camp on the Island of Saipan before they ever got to Japan/South Korea. We done well in that WC, whether we would have done better with him, or done as good to spite him is anyones guess.

    Most opinion here, that I have heard, on Keane boils down to this: Go away Roy. We're bored of this ranting shit. He makes himself irrelevent precisely because of the junk in the link above Malt. The thing is, no one, not the manager, not the players, nor the fans have said no mistakes have been made, or that they have not played poorly. No one will be bothered having a go at Roy. Even Eamon Dunphy doesn't agree with Roy, and Eamon hates practically everyone!

    I thought Russia were meant to be one of the tipped teams for the tournament. I feel a bit sad Poland are out, not just as a host nation but they've really warmed to the Irish which I find a bit humbling considering how some Irish treated the Polish who came here to work.

    So I've done the spuds thread and will keep that going until they're harvested. Thought I'd start another thread with what other veg I've chanced my arm with. I've been burning up my PhotoBucket bandwidth allowance something fierce. I had been using an online site to reduce the pixel size of my photos but forgot to change format Now I just reduce them to 800 x 600 in Paint and save as to jpeg, much better! Back to business...     I don't see kids out playing football around here anymore, not that we ever produced anyone. When I was young - which wasn't when dinosaurs roamed the earth - we'd be out everyday unless it was torrential rain or a storm. I suspect they're sat on their chubby little arses playing it on XBox or playstation. I don't think there's a youth system that's worth a fcuk either, that doesn't help.     I'm not worried about oil running out, couldn't care less if it does or doesn't. But, what's happening recently is the price is continually pushing up at the pumps. That eats into peoples incomes and reduces their options of travelling for work. Price of oil, or so I'm told, went below $100 a barrel, yet prices at the pumps here are still €1.65 per litre, I'm told they should be under €1.20. Now, the problem with all of this is we have very little choice when it comes to getting around.     We got something alright, a proper and deserved hiding. Pleasure to watch that Spanish team play football, the ball just stuck to them. I heard they had something like 980 completed passes to our paltry 100. If you can't play the game, this is what happens. Best song was the Irish singing "Stop stealing our fish" For them that don't know, Irish waters are plagued by Spanish trawlers doing exactly that.
