Call me old fashioned, but theres something that doesnt quite sit right if you were to hate anything that you hunted, now i would say i do hate child molesters and certain iduviduals such as Tony Blair and Goerge W Bush for the damage and suffering their causing in the world today but to say i hate a magpie although i would and have in the past no problem dispatching it is kinda wrong imo

Losing any good dog of any age is always a sad day but to be robbed of one in its youth before its time is worse mate, been there a few times myself....a good skinfull of liquer with a few glasses raised in their memory is what ive been known to do usually saying "thats it !! there will be no more" but i never stick to my word on this

Stabs, cmon now !!!...its not hancock owners (present of former) that waste and turn these posts into playground squabbles, its the same old big knobs shooting their shit off as soon as the see a hancock thread.......if the boy is looking for advice, then why should folk that have expeirence of the dogs have to suffer when they try to pass advice because of the usual suspects foaming at the mouth until they get there fingers furiously tapping away to slate not just the dogs but the members on this site that keep or have kept them...opinions is one thing but going out your way to start bother on t

The best dog i ever run was a big transvestite lurcher...but you dont see many for sale now

Gavmac,i too was not looking for a slagging match but cmon challenge anybody with a hancock...whats that all about,as i said why not arrange a day out with a hancock owner and see if they live up to the hype you seem to put on them not any hancock owners...i think to challenge is a bit ott if your curious of these dogs capabilities, and anyway whats the challenge....general mouch on all quarry or a coursing dogs forte on good hares which nobody claimed hancocks dogs are top notch at anyway? If you want to persist going down the road of a challenge i think what would be more interesting is a mat
-
I see where your coming from gavmac but why does it have to be i challenge anybody with your dog...why could you not have said about aranging a wee day/night out with undesputed or the like, watch his dog work along side your dog and then made a desision on its working abbilities for yourself....but no it has to be the old macho, inflated ego shit you get more than often in the dog game about i challenge anybody against my dogs pish .So whats it going to be then a 10 grand purse or what!!!

Tell you what Gaz,if he came out for the 200 metre final in a rasta hat with dreads hanging out the back, now that would be class. While singing "no woman no cry".........Ok I'll get my coat

Do you think this big Jamaican boy might decide to run the 200m with a big spliff hanging out his gob just to extract the urine even more than he did yesterday in the 100m final

He the man, just caught the race last night...holy feck!! What kinda time is this boy going to do when he decides to try but as some were saying..is he going to test positive for anything Afterall he just won gold and set a new world record destroying the rest of the feild in the 100m sprint while jogging and waving at his mum in the crowd...unfeckingbelivible

The kid looks pretty handy but good bag work and tippy tappy sparring at this tender age doesnt garantee a big futre in the sport...its a tough game when it starts for real, better judging the kid when he starts getting hit for real

Ah the old hancock bashing from the superior folk within the world of lurchers... must be about that time again then ffs. Hancock breeds something that has a market...collie lurchers...no thats not right!!! with what ive had and what ive seen on the whole and in the right hands...DECENT COLLIE LURCHES!!! Now how many on here or anywhere else has consistenly bred decent dogs for well must be at least 3 decades now.....not many, yep theres gonna be a few shite dugs leave his kennels that im not disputing that but on the whole most are decent dogs that are very capable at their job and thats a

Thats a bold statement to make woodchip if you are using sub 12ftlbs rifle because if you can take rabbits with EASE!!! at 70m im presuming you can then take them at say 100m too!!! you see i can take rabbits at 30m with ease which then gives me the confidence to take a few at 40m if the conditions are right.
-
Yeah this is true - theres dogs that do a stylish job, lifting the rabbits quickly and straight back to hand with them every time. This requires effort and training, usually from a pup. But I dont think thats what Mackay was trying to say, if you read back through his post, I think he was meaning for a basic point and slip dog that you release and let it catch rabbits, most dogs with a bit of greyhound in them would do the job, at least thats how I read it ? yes but i wouldnt call that a lamping dog i would be in the vets all the time with dogs like that, what about when we lamp from the

All the best mate, and heres to many happy years together for you both

I break my dogs to cats for the simple reason that i park up at farms before i go onto their fields and sometimes hunt around farm buildings with my dogs,im off to two seperate farms tonight infact that ive hunted for many years but with no problem concerning my dogs and their cats, imo a big advantage of showing a responsible side to the farmer and keeping your permision. Breaking them is no different from breaking them to any lifestock, get them among them and expose them as early as possible,if you dont have cats it may take more of a effort to take them to a freind or a farm ect that doe

Bill,i admire your consideration for your neighbours pet cat, theres a lot wouldnt give two hoots either way if their dogs nabbed it and i believe prob some would take a bit of pride in their dogs for doing so but personally speaking i think you have did your bit speaking and warning your neighbour about the outcome if the cat is allowed to run the gaunlet in your garden with your dogs,i wouldnt have thought you would face any convictions if the inevitable was to happen but to keep yourself right i would ask to speak to the desk sgt at your local cop shop and ask him for some advice about the m

Have to agree with what others have said on here regarding ye using tag,as you were saying you know the dog,its breeding and how it works and any faults he has which by all acounts are minor considering your options on the table,i also have to say after looking at your latest pics of him on here he does look a good stamp of a dog and working away well too....i can understand you keeping your options open to see if theres as good as or better about but considering the lack of the type your after and i agree too even with his young years he has to be worth taking a chance with. Im hoping to
