Depends how much you want to keep the line close to beddy blood imo,i agree there seems to be shortage of decent digging bedlingtons avalible today..at least 95% are now used as bushing/rabbiter's and maybe a rar or two now but im sure theres a few out there that doesnt get a chance and as you will know aswell most boys that are still digging regular are using black dogs and the like,I have the opinion that its not just a lack of good beddies thats availible at the moment but a lack of geniune digging boys that use the breed to try and find a few handy dogs that have the minerals to justify br

Surley the American hunters would be best because lets face it when comes to the yanks everything on their side of the pond is always bigger,better,shiner, ect ect but when you speak of American hunters id of thought the native American tribes who once lived and hunted at one with the land a few years back could have showed us all a thing or two about hunting

Reason is simple mate,he's a puppy farmer.The man clearly has a great understanding of collie crosse's and has over the years produced some fine dogs,but his methods now leave a bad taste in my mouth.If a dog is earning its keep in whatever way,it should be well cared for and rewarded,not kept caged up as a "rent a womb".I have no problem with David Hancock earning a living from his knowledge of dogs,but i'm sure it could be done differently.As i always say,it's just my opinion and what the f*ck do i know? Nae bother pal,but what about...say a certain line/genes of dogs which has been tested over a good few years and has often produced many good working dogs but lately the line is now not been tested ?...true as you said offspring off working parents gives you a better chance of having yourself futre workers but surley if the line has been tested over many years but not so much this past wee while but its still producing decent dogs its still not too bad a bet of getting on the whole a good-un....just a thought

The negative side of buying from Hancock is sure his stud dogs are not worked now,he breeds a lot of pups a year so theres a chance they are not getting the attention and being socailised before they leave the nest which can only benefit a puppy for its futre upbringing but i have to say ive had two 3/4 bred dogs from the man a few years ago now...one from wendle and one from taffy and i have to say i had a right good turn from both of these dogs with one a maniac on foxes and the other capable with foxes took but not with the passion of the dog bred out of taffy,i found the man a ok fella who
