    I would not compare the Slovak to a gwp ( I have both), I would say the Slovak is far more laid back and not as hard by nature,very balanced. Very eager to please and VERY clever !!! ( sometimes too clever!) I find they are a very loyal and friendly breed ( as Paul says stoaty1 and quiglee on this site have them too) The coat is practically waterproof! ( I spend long days rough shooting in all weathers and then take the dog into the hide for evening duck,I have yet to see her shiver) They love the water.     It would be the small muensterlaender which is liver and white ( large muensterlaender is black and white ) But both are hpr breeds. The German quail dog ( deutscher wachtelhund ) is more like our Spaniel, a Büsing dog with Great nose. As a rule bigger than our spaniels. Waidmannsheil !!!!

    you say you can use your rifles to kill anything on your license but i no a 17hmr and 22lr are not suitable to humanely kill deer and it is also against the law so that carnt be correct. it says i can humainly dispatch animals wich would obviously be a fox in a live trap. ive been paid for this sort of work on a chicken farm before but per fox. and as this fox has attacked a baby in a home although i personly think itl be a dog that there trying to protect from being put down.it got me thinking about pest control what i wanted to no was other than my firearms, insurance and equipment

    Sounds like some kind of eye infection, any hairs on the inside of the lid? Dust in the bedding? If in doubt I would get someone to have a look ( if needs be a vet, must be due jabs and things?) The best of luck.

    ive got brighter tourches :laugh: Within limits meaning 22lr and airgun type limits lol Can't focus the beam which is a drawback, still not bad for not much money though.

    I have one and its fine, there are better lamps about no doubt but these do the job ( within limits).

    Not sure about the availability of Bavarian hounds and hanoveran over here but in Germany they are not easily accessible. You must have a hunting licence,a certain amount of ground to hunt and follow up over ( these dogs are only to be used for " high" game I.e. not roe deer,fox etc). Absolute specialists who can be very hard on game when they find ( high prey drive) A finding will which is unbeatable coupled with nose which is unreal! ( blood scent is not necessary, the pheromone of wounded game shed through the hooves is enough) Waidmannsheil!!!

    If your not german I';d eat my hat! I like all the breeds you mention mate, Esp the hanoverian. Not had the joy of seeing many weimeraners, the odd one hunting birds but never on bigger game, where Id imagine them to be better suited. Would you like some bread with it?
