I tell you what, it’s been a fairly decent conversation but has descended into the normal name calling and posturing. Lets have it right if that the route we are going down, all you “rebels” without a mask are full of shit ! 35 years I have been saying unpopular things out loud, like many other lads I stuck my hand up to do things in my community......all I have ever seen is people running in the other direction ! f**k off like !

Why?....how does it effect you ? I used to get my photo taken 400 times a day in London, I didn’t ask for it and I wasn’t given any choice but they did it all the same, I thought that was fundamentally wrong but nobody else seemed to give a shit ? Easy things to make a big song and dance about, REAL stuff is a bit too tricky it seems !

I’m frankly shocked !!......I expected it to be half a raw sheep, dripping with blood and what do I find?......restaurant food ! Going soft is all I can conclude !

Big carp in the UK are a huge investment for a fishery, some of them are worth a couple of grand. There are also the fish on big pits that may not have been caught for years. The last thing you want is some clown letting them flap about on hard baked banks or gravel. So really it’s just a basic welfare issue, doing what you can because you can. No different to looking after your game areas or raising birds for a shoot, no reason to be casual when you can do a bit more than that and keep things really good type stuff.

I hear you mate and I hope I’m clever enough to understand that not every situation is black and white so I’m generalising as I’m sure you know. However, there’s definitely people out there who never fail to leave a bad taste in your mouth no matter how hard you try......they ain’t worth the time mate imho

I completely agree, I have done all of the above (except I have not had to have a test yet) so why wouldn’t I use a mask too. On this thread, Sheepchaser and Gnasher summed it up perfectly for me.

My wife is one of these “give people a chance, make the effort” types which is a trait I happen to think is noble and I like because it’s kind. However, in my experience there are two types of people. One person is humble enough to realise they have made mistakes and they genuinely try to improve and make amends.....they may not get it right all the time but they are trying with varying degrees of effort. My old man volunteered when he was 16 in 1936, he didn’t do that alone. His dad and I’m sure many of the other lads dads had fought in WW1......they knew exactly what they were in for and they went anyway.
