Good call matey ..just to add do you lads think that ALL quarry is harder to catch come January not just the hare? And Tomo that really does surprise me about the hares down South not carrying young when much further up North many are at that time,i wouldn't of been surprised if they weren't up Scotland where it's generally much colder at that time of year? This is a genuine question and not at all a topic to be turned into a slanging match which is usually the norm if i make a post lol..i'm no day coursing man but have took my quota of gear over the years and where i live not far from the Scottish Border i find that quite a high % of the female hares are carrying young in early/mid January and we often hear the phrase about "testing your dog on a January hare on the big land"? Well it's common knowledge that 300 mile south (Fens) from where i am the climate is generally 3 or 4 degrees warmer at the least so would the hares down there not be carr

Hi Lofti,Don and only one other from the litter came to England the remainder are over in Ireland,i know one was quite aggresive towards other dogs and even humans so he's just homed on a small holding basically as a guard dog over in Ireland lol,my mate from over in Ireland who pupped Don & Co has one that is doing the business very well on the big fellas out on the hills,she's not very big but very game and their litter sister who his brother owns is much lighter in the frame and could just about be passed over as a whippet/grey but she's making quite a name for herself over there mainly

If use did have a match but it does not look like it would it be on the lamp???? and would it be who catches the most in a time period or the best off so many slips???? I assume it would either be to a set time period or more than likely just most in the bag at the end of the shift..if one leads but falls short of stamina then the other has a chance to take the honours if it keeps on going and eventually surpasses the other dogs score? The lads would have to decide on that though but saying that finding halfway is a "headache" so deciding on the rules could be another lol..just look

Back in the day they were renowned for catching big hauls of gear,they were basically just lamp dogs,they were never renowned as fox dogs although several were top drawer at dispatching them..you can bet your bottom dollar if the name Minshaw arises then controversy is never far away lol.ATB Andy

Their nothing other than line bred lurchers mate..with every now and then a bit of new added blood chucked into the mixing pot...they are no different to any other lurchers...they should have four legs,a head and tail and they shit and piss like any other lol...there's good un's and there's bad un's like in any strain .ATB Andy

I've explained how and why Bulpa came about a hundred times via these forums..the dog i have now Don bred similar (lurcher x collie)was planned over a 3 year period and that was because the right type of Collie had to be found first and because i feel he'll make a good baseline for breeding if and when i need to do so..so does that clear that one up for you as you make it sound as though "i have to explain all and sundry to you" lol? I live on the Border's of Scotland so obviously some 300 miles North of the Fens where all this "ultimate" of hare coursing USED to take place now i've caught my share of hares and found that in early January the majority of hares are in young up here and with it being even warmer down South surely they must be too carring young and it's inevitable you'll be running pregnant does? Oh and the story of the Greyhound which was White & Black in the same kennels as Cora was called Watch & Learn (possibly summat you should try)?...if that mated Cora then so be it...it must be a first because it was a BITCH!!! Enlighten me about Cora's other litter then Tony because i know NOT of it i can assure you that and that is THE truth .As for Shaun,well he's a big lad i don't have to hold his hand lol,of course he can drive so obviously thats someone else talking shite as per the norm whoever it is thats running you tales?...Rambo,Traveller and family were the Greyhoundy types matey,they were out of a 1/2 cross called Grip and Blues dam was injected with Grey too she was called Darkie..so now not even Blue can be called a Minshaw in your opinion eh? Aye but the difference is Mark and you will probably know this about Don is that i will test him out and then some more the parents of Wispa well thats a different story lol..unfortunately Don cracked a bone in his his patella (knee cap) last season and luckily lol the awful weather (frost & snow) meant he didn't lose much more action than most dogs i'd say? He seems absolutely grand now,he was doing not so bad on all kinds of gear at the back end of the season so fingers crossed he'll start to shine through this season,he's only two so there's no real hurry imo? There never was any other litter Tony? Cora only had one litter of pups,her sister Gypsy had a couple apparently though? She was only out of a litter of three (2 bitches and one dog) and the big coloured dog (white & black) the same way bred as her was the only pup in his litter.ATB Andy.
