  1. Welcome to my world bud..my season is over but being honest I'm not losing any sleep over it,bollox to hunting
  2. It's good to read people's opinions as it gives others an insight into what the book is about & they can then decide for themselves if they want to spend their hard earned dollar on what is after all a picture book..I like it but then I'm possibly bias as there's a few pics of my ugly brute of a dog in there,I don't confess to him being a true coursing dog,he's just a working lurcher to me if that means he's not worthy of his place in the book then I apologise but he's mastered his fair share of gear these past 4 seasons & like I said he's my superstar as are the other dogs to their re
  3. Each to their own but personally I think the book is of very high quality, the images are of a superior quality to volume one,the action shots are superb..pics like that are not just a given when your out EVERYTHING has to be just right even down to the weather as it affects the light which in turn affects the exposure of the photographs so believe me for every good shot there will be hundreds that just don't cut the mustard, the tens of thousands of miles travelled, ferry journeys, the walking, climbing of mountains,it ain't easy & lugging a camera with a huge lens on don't make things any eas
  4. Lovely chunky pups & great to see the socialization going well
  5. Dogs always seem to love the snow, more so than most humans..my friend has a bitch very similar in both colour & looks, she's a saluki/bull/grey type, how's your pooch bred matey?
  6. Boots is a fast aggressive runner who likes things over sharpish,Mario is more content to settle in behind & go for the long haul although on the occasional trip lamping he is more busy in his work..his stamina is exceptional, way more than Boots has I'm confident in saying that.Boots is definitely more your all round type of lurcher, don't matter what you confront him with he will take it in his stride,Mario is limited in that aspect but not many I've owned over the years have been too indifferent to him. Both dogs are fast animals, perhaps Mario being the younger dog & not having had the
  7. Honestly mate ive not had one bad word about any of the pups, well apart from one chewing a brand new pair of trainers lol, they are all started away on the bunnies & doing what is expected of them at this stage, they are only just over 11 months old & all the lads with them are good dogmen, they ain't for over matching them on a dead of winter critter just now, there's plenty of time for that in the future,i couldn't of hand chosen better owners for the pups had i tried,I'm fairly confident the lads will have some fun running the young guns, now Boots is out of action again long term as he
  8. Cheers folks & yeah Northern Rock just call anytime bud im never far away & Boots is just coursing bred Havelightforce, out of Razor (Buddy x Kim) & Abi (3/4 Grey x 1/4 Saluki)..
  9. Mario has made a fine looking animal, stands 28 tts & weighs 73lb,he's actually heavier than my Boots dog..Gypsy his sister that my lad has is about 26 1/2 tts & is mid to high in the 50lbs department, she has more fire in her belly than Mario & is generally just "keener" all round, both suffer really badly in cold, wet conditions to the point it's not worth taking them out if I'm honest but there's thousands more just like them when it comes to that as I've seen with my own two eyes hundreds of times over the years..Mario has seen alot more gear than Gypsy & has caught a fair amou
  10. Mario & Ruby from late last month up in Perthshire,Scotland just as dawn was breaking..
  11. Cheers lads..was good to see you at the Midland Game Fair Ray & have a bit of craic & to see your dogs in the flesh including Buck,he's a fine specimen of dogsflesh that's for sure & like you always say he has a fantastic temperament too..
  12. Unfortunately Boots is currently lame just as he was this time last year with the same injury, old Don has long since had his best days so I'm in the process of tuning Fenn back up to leave me with two runners for the remainder of this season..it's a tough old game at times that's for sure, but with Don heading for his 9th birthday & both Fenn & Boots six next time around things ain't getting any easier when it comes to getting a healthy dog out the kennels of a morning that's for sure..
  13. Mario..he's the one out of Romeo x Mia
  14. Typical of the many & sadly not the few matey
  15. Ready for what? Rosette hunting? It's the 7th of f***ing July not the 7th of November.. 4 months away & still the same old shite I see,aye I'm a miserable b*****d but for fucks sake boys..yeah you must be boys give things a chance will you..

  17. I've already been getting WhatsApp messages bud off people reading this but not commenting haha, greyhounds are great really guys, just love getting the blood pumping & fingers typing of the sighthound lovers lol Listen peeps,Greyhounds are sound,my Boots dog is out of a 3/4 Grey he has no stamina but i put that down to the Saluki in him ?
  18. I don't know anyone that would use a Bull for running? They don't do bad on the treadmill when being brought on. I'm not saying they don't but ANYONE who breeds Bull for stamina when it comes to breeding lurchers want to stick to breeding toy dogs,I've a Pom here that does a 100 miles a week on the Fells,it's nearly 11,I've NEVER EVER seen it knackered yet I'd not class it as worth breeding off regarding stamina lol..Anyways to the deer Or if it learned to take a throat hold you would be on a winner .......A throat hold is great with the smaller species but on the bigger types that tec
  19. Fantastic creatures,i regularly clamber thousands of feet up mountainsides just hoping for a glimpse of one, this chap here i got to within 40 yards maximum id say,he was just feeding away in the summer sun,i just kept down wind of him & got very close, not bad considering i had the Pom too!!
  20. Sad state of affairs is this, absolute dregs of society to put it nicely.. that Facebook is the place to plaster the theft, nothing travels faster than info via that place. Hope she becomes too hot to handle & is returned home safely
  21. I'm very content these days to hunt deer without a dog, still get lots of buzz, trying to find them & get a few pics of them, still trying to use a bit of stealth & cunning in the process, buggers are difficult to spot at times, hard to see 7 Red Deer on this PIC but they are there ?
