    my pup has rcently started chasing our chickens, which he didnt do a few weeks ago. if i tell him off for chasing the chickens, could this put him off flushing phesants etc.? whats the best way to put them off chasing the chickens? (bere in mind he is 3 months old)

    ive got a 3 month old lab, i just play games with him like you do with puppys but to use up some of his energy i take him for little walks round our garden (its a big one, about 2 acres in all, or hecters, ive forgotton which is the smaller) but back to the point these are 5 min stroles round the garden added on to the games. ive heard people say you shouldnt take a puppy for 'walks' so how far counts as a 'walk' for a 3 month puppy??

    waterproofs and something to keep you warm, id rather take a layer off than not hve enough

    looks like were in the same boat! picked up my pup from the breeder around 3 days ago but hes 3 months now. first dog (gundog) aswell

    not sure about respnably priced, but Eskdale shooting services dose a bit of rough shooting and rabboting i think buccleuch dose more of what i think your looking for, try their website give them a try

    i live in south east scotland (the borders) where is my nearest beaugle pack. both my parents went while they were at uni with the unis pack (wye in kent) which packs are nearest to me? cheers rob

    i saw an advert of someone selling this cross, looked like awsome little (may well end up huge if theres gwp init) dogs! do they act like springers or wirehairs?!?!

    dose to much space make the soil their bedding? if so im really in the sh!t! im about to build a kennel for my first gun dog (lab) the kennel is gona be 5x3 (with a bed/dog box kinda thing in it) and the run 7x5 could i be facing this problem?

    iv been told by a professional spaniel trainer to ''start out as you mean to go on'' so if its going to end up outside it should be from the start, well thats the advice im going to follow with my pup. im just going to put a ciddly toy and a hot water bottle in to comfort it for the first few nights

    cheers for the suggestion, but i had a bearded dragon called bruce that died a wee while ago so might give that a miss! any more?

    went up to johns this morning and had my choice of the two remaning dogs i chose the slightly smaller of the two, as he seemed to be a bit more people orientated, had a play with a sock,bought it back to me at 7 weeks, so im well chuffed. just got to build my kennel and shopuld have him here by the x-mas holidays, just gona take it slow and enjoy the little trooper!
