Anyone Else Having Troubles With Their Vinci ??
ROB.BOB replied to ROB.BOB's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
No its never jammed, par 65mm cartridges but it says on the box that it will do that. Aye its had it fairly rough, come off the quad a few times. I've got an old M1, its the back up gun. -
I bought a Benelli Vinci about this time last year, thrashed it as a work gun and I really like it, looks 5 years old as she's not aged well but I've had to send it back to GMK twice to have the stock reattached after its pulled off the metal component holding it on, just wondered if anyone else has had similar troubles? Please no comments saying I should have bought a Beretta... I don't like them much hah

So this weekend I'm collecting my next pup, a bit soon perhaps for another but I didn't fancy missing the opportunity. I'm getting a second generation half cross GWP Lab. I think that describes what I'm meaning, as in both parents are first crosses. Just wondering if anyone has come across a second cross before? Also she's white and wire haired which I've never seen before either.

Benelli Vinci Aftermarket Parts?
ROB.BOB replied to ROB.BOB's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Anybody? -
Had my Benelli Vinci Since July 13, really like it (looks hideous without the extension tube on) I've been looking for aftermarket parts, bolt handles, bolt release buttons etc, but I'd have more luck finding hens teeth! Has anybody else had any luck finding aftermarket parts for them??

Would be really interested to see a picture of that mate, could you get your hands on a picture of the parents?

very nice, tried it once myself but I wasn't so good with a saw back then so didn't come out at all like that!

My favourite is just to make boxes/tunnels with natural stone with one (or two if there's not one big enough) flat top stone to lift off to get into it, rock piles and walls are great for trapping so carting stone around isn't a bother. I like getting to a trap from above, easier to set them down after feathering the plate, cover with moss, can just pick out old bait and replace it etc. hate the three plank wooden boxes the safteys never seem to fit when traps set ( may fit when box is new but after years of the ground settling around them it always seems to crush the bottoms in.) and

Ssg's Through A 1/2 Choke? Wreck The Barrel?
ROB.BOB replied to ROB.BOB's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
My mistake gents, Read some of these comments talking about SG's etc, just looked at the box and they're SG's not SS I though cartridges went- BB, AAA, SSG, Slugs. Didn't know they did anything different Deker : I was given a box of SG's by a mate as a kind of housewarming gift, always thought I'd save them for blowing off steam on some white goods, or an old tele. But I was going on a fox drive on Friday but thought they wouldn't have a hope at patterning so went for the trusty 54g 4's, they knock anything over -
You might know a local keeper that would have the vixens for a stinkpit..

I’ve just got a few month old pup of this cross but my experience with seeing & being around other peoples: they are generally chilled out as you said and independent hunters, Good nose and hard hunting. Some can be a bit grumpy when crammed into a beaters wagon but that can be true of any dog of any breed so couldn't hold that against them as a bad characteristic. The examples I’m talking from are grouse dogs that have been left to hunt for possibly a few miles in a big drive so range a bit far for your average pheasant keeper to tolerate in his drive but if its sharp on th

Why Is My Semi Auto Benelli Jamming?
ROB.BOB replied to Bigpat's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Once my M1 gets too sh*tted up (not often) I have to clean the tube that the spring is in. I know a gent that bought a brand new vincii and hated it, jammed far to often. I was always told with Benelli stick to the M1, M2 & superblack eagels as they're the simplest. -
Harvey d, do you have any pictures of your dogs you could post? I'd like to see them.

When I've been to pointer & setter trials, it was pointed out to me by a trialer and then i noticed what he meant, but the english setters that where from ireland (on the day anyway maybe not overall) where noticeable smaller than the one's from england and scotland. How did you find your setters where to train?
-
thanks wideboy. I wonder how they'd do at grouse beating if you weren't bothered about the sett, although that defets the point of having a setter! ha. I like the Irish, English setters if you get me? quite alot smaller than the english bred english setters.
-
as the title says. I've seen them working at trials, seen the german pointers at grouse beating many times, even seen an english pointer, but never a setter. i understand theyr'e not 'meant' for beating but doesn't mean no body uses them for such. I'd like to hear what people have to say.

cheers guys, i hit but not as consistent as id like to be, but thats with not getting the lead right ha

with my shotgun if i get time to 'think' about a shot like a driven pheasant appart from usually missing it i close my left eye. But with a reaction shot i dont know if i close an eye or not because you just do it don't you! but my question is if i have both eyes open looking at what im shooting i see two barrels, almost like if you look at something and cross your eyes a wee bit. Just me or does anyone else get this?
