He was shot in Glasgow as part of an Urban deer management project that has now been running for three years..He was on the wrong side of a deer fence(road side or he would still be on the ground) He is the 7th medal off the 350 acre site but is the only gold. The 4 heads were sent to the Scone game fair 3 to get done by the CIC men there and one was to go to Richard prior sadly Richard has been a bit unwell and tony suggested he measure it and just let Richard post the prize. I am sure the winner will not mind at all. Roebuck 220 you are correct he is a 7 and might make an eight as a furt

BDS Ran a charity event and one of the lots put forward was to get three heads measured by TDW of the CIC commision. So i put a bid in and won it. Sent my three heads plus one for a competion. Well got a call and an email today. one gold two bronzes and sadly a miss not by much. Was well chuffed as the one that went gold weighed in at 555grams and i have one already that just made gold and was 600grm. So i thought it might go high silver but the volume took it through.

Well done Dave i am sure that will have you looking for the next fix. I hope you new deer stalking was a class A drug
-
Thanks lads Harry take it up with the CIC and with regards your mate with the LED light if he likes that type of thing that's great. For me a dog that works to heal and is under control is a must. I will use a lead when near motorways and built up areas but it will not be of the bright variety. I will also not be rushing out to buy a day glow harness.I feel in this country we do not need that type of Tac.
-
6POINTER Do you think it would improve her working or help me in any way.I was thinking of getting a long lead so that i know were she is at all times.
-
Harry the head has been with the the assessor for a few weeks now and will get done soon as Mr Prior is well enough to do it. I for one will not rush him on the subject and wish him a speedy recovery. With regards the culling ha ha do you think it was over due

The person to contact is Tony Dolby Welsh CIC measure. His number is on the web site. What you will need to do is skin it and boil it clean. In my opinion leave it as a full scull minus the bottom Jaw. Leave it for 90 days and then weigh it if it is over about 450 grams it is worth getting done as already said if it don't make the grade you don't pay. To get it measured i am sure is £20 then you will have the medal to buy if you want it. May i say it is a really good trophy no mater what it makes.

You see Christian the truth and what you want the truth to be are some times fogged by your desire for the truth to suit your own prejudices. Now it dose not matter a dot what you think the truth of the matter is what matters is that the courts see through the ignorance of a English man who thinks he can blame others for his own failing. Greed
-
Thats a nice weight and i am sure you will see a few more i am just waiting to see them on a small patch i have a few have come off ground very close less than a mile away.So fingers crossed i will be seeing a few over the next few years.

A really nice stag Billy we dont often see the sika in his summer coat most pictures are of him in his sombre black. The antlers should be quite hard under that velvet mate are you going to try and salvage them.
-
Your right lads never put a high seats up on some one elses ground that you cant look after or cant afford to pick it up .Only a foo l would do that but then again there is one born every day and old scrouge was not thinking clear when he thought every one would run about after him .That is a trate of the english.
-
Martin that looks the business mate i have a few ally and wood home made combos very sturdy and they cost next to nowt. Most of the time soft English sit in them lazy buggers. Stu yours sound great but hey not for the faint hearted how do you manage. lol ps was out with Andrew today and guess what he is useing a differnt Roe Sac Says yours was not up to it.
-

-
It also works the other way a lot of times you will see a fox coming to the Roe call sounds can be similar and when the buck is really up for rutting he will come in to a snot rag. Greek phil (Harry) Nice to see you being a good lad this time.

What is your ideal deer dog fro stalking?
wireviz replied to dave1372's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
I have two dogs at the moment a HWV who is now fading a little but still well up to the job and my new pup a BMH .She is doing ok and i like her stile. Any dog that will walk to heal and find me a shot deer with out any fuss would do me just fine. -
There is method in my madness Boyd while David and his brother will use the ground i can always go back if i do not let any one shoot it then some one else i do not know will move on to it. I have far to much ground to manage at the moment so its a good way of keeping it close and help local lads out.
