  5. Well it was - 6 when we set off and we had only traveled 30 Min's before we hit a traffic jam and we had to turn back .I felt really bad for my guest sprags as he had driven up from England and was looking forward to seeing and having a stalk on a few deer .My good area was not on and it was back to a bit i have not done for a long while after not seeing a sign of a roe from the first to small copes woods the third one was different seeing tracks and deer at a distance. Sprags got on a nice doe out in the open at around 200 mtrs and shot her through the chest. Bipod sticks and all the long dis

  9. Well done mate and its nice to get what your after but i must say its early for any one to decide a fawn will survive through the winter. For me its kids first till the new year then i will take what i want even way down south a fawn would still be at a disadvantage if mother was shot at this time .They are instrumental in leading the young on to nutritional ground when the hard weather really hits if the Mother is shot they will stay were they are even if better feeding is else were.
  10. Your Info is correct he was shot by a client and was a cull animal of over 12 years. The chap that works that area was doing a dog display at the best practice day he is a member of the DI team. He also said it was only one of a few that had to go this year cant understand all the fuss.
  11. No problem mate just tha BASC fella should have known beter we can all make mistakes
  12. The kids (MALE OR FEMALE ) Will remain so until the 31st of march then the season changes and you can only shoot bucks this means that only buck kids can be shot because does are now out of season. When i am stalking (personal opinion ) i take/ dependants first until the new year by that time the kids know what its about then from then on its as they present them selves to complete my cull for that ground. England used to be doe kids only but i am sure it is now changed to fall in line with Best Practice. (PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR ORGANISATION THE DI) PS MAY I SAY THAT THE UNION JACK IS
  13. The cost is as said mate and that still stands spoke to Jon today he has not changed his price at all £50 a day for two stalks BB 20 a night or get your own now i have never heard any one as cheap as that but it is a long way and fuel could be expencive if you pay for it our was free.
  14. [That sounds like a good do well done.
  15. Outofnowhere could you please send me the BASC officer that told you is was against the law please as i will need to have words with him. This would make me a criminal and that woudnt do now would it. Cassshantia no you cant shoot doe kids or does out of season. But in Scotland a kid is a kid the sex dose not matter. It is best practice to take out kids first and then the doe this way if the doe runs off she will be ok if you shoot the doe and cant get the kids at this time of year they will not do to well and might even die so its a welfare issue. Please remember that doe season in Scot
  16. No mate the trusty 6.5 x55 i didn't know there was any other calibre
  17. It is legal foxdropper no worry mate these are all dependant. The landowner wants to see a reduction and we have put him off untill now after a chat it was decided i would take only the two kids and leave the one big doe with the best kid. Not the nicest job but it gets the numbers visually down while hopefully still keeping the core population strong. Here is a view over glasgow always make sure you have a good back stop
