  12. Did you know IG Farbenindustrei were producers of the chemical Zyclon B (used in the gas chambers) and they used much of the labour from Auschwitz. After the war this companies successors went on to become BASF, BAyer, AGFA....
  13. If there are 190 school days in a year and we assume the report is correct of a grand a day then that's £190,000 per year You could employ 3/4 people full time and pay for a vehicle for that, why are the benifits system paying this to taxi companies? And how many others are in the same boat claiming similar benefit?
  14. The thing I found most bizarre is in Auschwitz they had a hospital for the sick. In the book I refered to Premo Levi himself suffered a serious leg injury and was sent to the camp hospital to receive medical treatment to his injury. Why did they not just execute him and the others that went there? I guess we will never know. What can drive a family man to the most cruel barbarity as soon as he puts on an SS uniform is beyond me, at what level of humanity must you have sunk to to watch young children skip holding hands into the gas chamber and not fight to stop it Then to go home and presum
  15. Have a read of a book by Primo Levi - if this is a man Italian Jew who survived Auschwitz very moving biography.
  16. Seems to be a bit of marmite that film. I really enjoyed it, how a mans life can unravel in the space of two hours and the emotions he goes through I thought it was very clever. No guns no action scenes just an actor in a car and a phone and his life destroying around him.
  17. Bloody predictive spelling, should have read......carries! Not Carly's Yes it would be a nice piece of venison laid on my plate. The irony is the bloody thing was put down after all his effort

  21. Yes watched Fury at the cinema, very good film, bit silly at the end though one disabled tank against about 200 infantry to carry on fighting that long. Still very good, especially that clip with the Tiger, that was pretty realistic 3:1 is about right Sherman vs Tiger. Right answer me this....if you can remember......when the kid sneaks out the bottom and is laying under the tank,a German looks underneath and see,s him........but walks away !!.......why ??....i didnt get that bit. Your right it was far fetched but a good watch. Nor me Gnash, I tell you if I'd been scrapping all night
