  1. nice one mate me and my old man kept harris hawks while i was growing up and it is the best hobby you can have but sadly we packed in about 8-10 years ago due to lack of time, having a bird is a massive commitment and fiting it in around full time work is hard.i will have another one one day thow, well done thow mate and grate pics.keep us posted on how you get on with him.
  2. would be nice to join the group but our sport has a lot of people that are against it and i dont realy want everyone know who i am and what im upto, next thing police is knocking on door and taking dogs away! good luck with it thow
  3. gutted for you mate...we know the risks but it dosent make it any better when it happens when you and that little dog bonded. R.I.P
  4. well acording to james mkay's complete guide to ferrets they reach adult weight at 4 months and are no longer classed as kitts.iv had this years young ens out once. when i start ferreting seriously when the brambles die back i will work them a lot more but i dont think you have to wait as long as 12 months, get them out and give them a try, atvb with them.
  5. why dilute the whippet blood they are faster as a pure breed and exellent rabbiting dogs day or night .. the beddy in them can make them yappy if they are struggling on a rabbit whippet gets knocked up so easy thow mate, mate has got 3 as a good nights lamping on decent ground put them out of action for next couple of nights.they always get knocked up but they cant half shift.grate little dog but i think if i wanted a small dog for ferreting id have collie whippet grey. atvb with watever pup you buy mate.
  6. well said mate.i come on this site to look at pics, other peoples point of view and listen to stories and other peoples experiences, the lads i go out with work all different types of dogs from colliesx's - beddlington x,s to streight whippets and ofcourse bull x's,and they all have there uses and do there jobs.non of the lads i know use there dogs to make them look "hard" in any way, quite the opposite.anyways all i say is live and let live, each to there own.atvb.alex
  7. i know 3 lads that use dogs bread out of handcocks.all fantastic dogs takin ALL quarry (pre ban) but thats not to say they are all good,i would probably buy one myself thow as i am lookin for a collie x but i dont want a pup so i woant get one from his yard, atvb
  8. whenever swap my ferrets about theres always a bit of a ruck, just leave them to get on with it,usually sort it within an hour or less usually, never had one get hurt yet so i would probably give it another try mate but dont take my word for it,just my opinion.atvb sorting them out.

  10. all depends on your game, streight whippet for rabbits for me but cant beat a good collie grey for all rounders but i realy would own any cross as long as it did the job i required it to to atvb

  14. alright mate,if i was to buy a rotti i would want it to be docked, infact i think i would have to buy one from ire just so it was but no vet in this country will do it,i asked the vet who did my litter of spanials a few months back n he said spanials, terriers and pointers and thats it,he said you just cant get away with it,even if you produce shot gun certs etc.its a real shame and the law on this subject is a descrace but thats what we face every day with antis and animal rights activists n all that crap.atvb with the sale of your pups mate.looking at what they are coming out of im sure they w
