    hi , theres a lot of really good dogs about up here, and do whats required of them. As someone stated, they just dont get bragged about. Tbh, a lot of the guys i know around north end of Glasgow who run lurchers, arent on here, and always say "your dog could have what ppl state as the best of breeding or the worst of breeding, at the end of the day, your dog is an athlete, train it , work it loads it will come good, if you dont then you wont see it at its best" If you ask me never a truer word said.     pre-ban, i seen a few reds been taken, and also a few dogs taking stags single handed, however i nearly lost a good dog to this (as i told you in another thread). I guess its all to do with the terrain , what everyone is forgetting, is whether it be roe,fallow, red or whatever your looking for, all these animals know there land, ie where the streams are , where the fences are, where the little tracks or whatever it is they can use to evade any possible predator. Thats what helps them, and they will do there best to use this knowledge to there advantage, remember they are running for there

    i agree, iv said this before and will say it again, "thats the reason theres a hunting season and a fishing season, when one stops, another begins" that was the way my father brought me up,when i was a kid he would really get angry at me if i deliberately went out and killed anything that was classed as game from april-august. although, he would say that rule would only be bent should someone fone (which happened on various occasions, as my dad worked a lot of farms) and asks to get rid of some rabbits or whatever that were causing problems on there land or if you have a pup, which is

    hi guys thanks for the comments, sorry for taking so long to reply but couldnt get on the site the other say for some reason. missus had a wee boy, 4lb 8oz, on the wed, kept in till yesterday to get his weight up but alls well , there both safe and sound , chuffed to bits

    good idea, bud, my pup from him is really leggie, and at 4 1/2 month now realising that she can run at a fair speed, she seems as game as hell to. i also went out with john one night to see the father working, trust me that dog can shift

    another season draws to a close. Time to drag out and dust down the fishing gear, for inbetween training the pup for next year. Just want to wish everyone the best, and say thanks to the guys who i met an took me out this season, met some cracking people from here and had some good laughs. October cant come quick enough for me ATB everyone
