  1. think some people might disagree with you on that. My best ever dog, and worst ever dog were broken coat lurchers. Now i have to smooth coats, granted there both pups, 4 an half month , and ten month , and already the older one is proving its worth. As long as your dog does well, an takes what its intended for then thats all that matters.
  2. cool thanks guys , tbh im just trying to change phots in many ways. you are right though standing on that cliff , dodgy doesnt cut it

  11. yeah, i tottally agree , maybe i wasnt clear , he never said anything about the dogs performances, but again it was just his preferrence, i found it weird though that he wouldnt consider a rough coat. at the moment i have 2 smooth coats , but the best dog iv ever had was a rough coat,
  12. Hi,im just curious as to whether any of you, have a preference into whether their lurcher has a rough or smooth coat? if so whats your reasons for your choice? for me personally, its not a major factor, but my mate on the otherhand swears by smooth coats and simply refuses to own a rough coat, which to me is kind of daft, but hey each to their own eh.
  13. Hi folks,my mate asked me to ask on here ,if anyone is likely to have pups available in end of feb march time. Ideally he is looking for 2 bitches, smooth coat, defo not rough coat. would also prefer no bull crosses. anything from 21/24 inch would be perfect. in process of building kennals, hence the reason he is waiting. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  14. hi folks, im looking for a reasonable priced air rifle, .177 or .22. im from glasgow so if i have to pick it up, would only really be able to travel within a 50 mile radius, if further would be relying on sellar posting rifle. scope ,silencer,s not essential, as i have plenty here any help would be greatly appreciated .
  15. the black pup is just 14 weeks, an just as daft as a brush, the fawn pup is 10 month, and already working well considering i only got him last week (21 inch)
  16. aw god easy for me to answer, it was a deerhound/greyhound, what a complete donkey, never again will i touch anythin of that breed again,
  17. iv seen an awful lot of good dogs, but a prime HARE would win. thats why they make such acheived quarry. for me its also good to see the hare escape at times, just to remind you on how hard it really is for the dog.
  18. you can more or less pick up small lurchers to, that will do the damage. i picked up a 21 inch lurcher on fri aged 10 month , which is proving well worthwhile. had him out twice an he has done very well in quarry. his mix is whippet/greyhound, not sure if i was just lucky. but if you keep your eyes peeled an wait for right dog then its worth the wait. However i also beleive its not just the dog , but also the owner, you need to spend time out an about nuturing it on. its no use just taking it out a few times, but as often as possible. ATB
  19. thanks 4 all your help i will try and get something knocked up and let you know how i get on, half the reason for getting this is i stay right on the west highland way route which is nothin but woodland so quarry everywhere and im not into allowing the dogs chasing out of season only winter. i have a huge enclosed space surronded by a 12ft fence to prevent the out of season chasing of quarry but enough room to give the dogs a 6 -800 mtr run on the lure. i will get what i need asap , once again thanks for all your help anything else you advise me on would really help davie
  20. thanks for your help i greatly appreciate it. i think i will attend the armadale trail on sunday. i did forget to mention my girlfriend has 2 whippet pups aged 6 1/2 month and 4 1/2 month who we hope to race and work at the end of the year so any info would be most welcome. as to the lure runner would i get the majority of required things at a scrappy thanks davie
