  1. id nip that in the bud mate , i had a dog like that once, and yeah on one day she came a cropper with a bigger male lurcher. what i eventually done is take mine out with other dogs (allowing the other dogs to slip but not her) that didnt mind others being around the kill, when the kill was made then allow her to go investigate. it did work after a period of time, but hitting her i think would be wrong answer , ATB
  2. well if there stolen, hopefully the real owner gets them back, must be someone who reconises dogs
  3. im not a fox man myself so wouldnt portray myself knowledgeable on this topic, but id like to add that iv seen some very big foxes round our neighbourhood, these ones are packed and obviously well fed. Being honest i would have thought the ones that stay out of the citys would be leaner as opposed to the city foxs, as they would need to be more active in less food productive areas ie in staying fitter to catch there prey.
  4. tell me about it, some ppl shouldnt have dogs
  5. im wondering though just how right the papers got it , as everyone knows papers try and make stuff look bad.
  6. http://local.stv.tv/glasgow/104744-two-lurcher-dogs-thrown-over-six-foot-fence-into-school-playground/ seen this yesterday dont know if anyone noticed it or posted it up already ,but god sake what is wrong with people,
  7. lol, wish it was me, rabbits are scarce round my end, that new disease all but wiped them out
  8. id also suggest that make sure you know the land your lamping like the back of your hand, ie , no ditches or small cliffs, or really hidden dangers that could injure your dog. to many people dont do this and think "the dog will be fine" but it only takes one mistake which can end your dogs running
  9. just read this topic, glad you got them back bud, there is nothing worse than dog thiefs, lowest of the low
  10. its a pup, 8 and a half month and you dont like her,so your getting rid of her. she is still learning, so why rehome her Why keep a dog you don't like? All you'll end up doing is leaving that dog in the kennel and working one of the others instead , she won't get to see the quarry and will end up being ruined ... It's called kennel management and I know the bitch will turn out a better dog if someone else had her and used her for what she was bred for which is foxes (NI) where I prefer to hunt edible game ok, was just wondering the reason, i to prefer edible game, as i said in my ea

  14. i beleive its ok, to rehome a dog, it happens all the time. whether they are working or a pet, everyones circumstances are different. About 4 years ago i rehomed a cracking dog, to a retired couple who stay well out in countryside, i still keep in touch with them, and they say she was loving the lazy life (she passed away in feb). At that time, i had her and 2 others in kennels and was breaking my heart leaving her in kennel or watching her trying to keep up with the other dogs. The term "being cruel to be kind" comes to mind. I suppose its really difficult, when your dog is intergrated with

  17. Its a b*****d when the come up and like your face, then you look in the pen and not one shit to be seen aw god no ,thats just so wrong lol as to your pup barking, i wouldnt worry about it to much , mine done the exact same , but its a totally different dog when its out working, even now when they are out chasing one another they still growl and bark like hell, but they realise themselves when its fun time and work time, dont be to hard on her, let her enjoy being a pup she will come good in the end
