  6. Just outta curiousity - what does the Pug bring to the party? (...er, apart from looks )
  7. Went to the SECC last night to see the Chemical Brothers and was itching to try out my new lens. Mrs Misty (in her INFINITE bloody wisdom  ) says "They'll take it off you before you go in" So, the camera was left gathering dust for another night . I get there and EVERY bugger and their dog has a camera or a MP camera phone! So, out comes my trusty Nokia 6230 and get this I've spent all day kicking myself about the shots I could have got...
  8. Ya can't have that now, can you?
  9. Cheers, guys. Caught me by surprise too. We were s'posed to be bookin our hols last night - no bloody chance now! lol
  10. It's in Lanarkshire! Now, I know some o you guys are from around there. Someone MUST have a bit of an idea where she came from? C'mon, let's work together and help get this sorted, eh?
  11. Just found out tonight, that we're gonna have a wee Misty!
  12. Mrs Misty just told me about a lurcher in the sun today. Something about they reckon it's got a paw missing cos it had been tied to a train track and bit the paw off or pulled it off to escape a train. Anyone see this? If it's true, there's some feckers out there who should receive the same bloody treatment :realmad: :realmad:
  13. Great result mbf. My 3/4 x is gettin used to the ferreting game - marking well, just too big when they only run a short distance, but I'm sure she'l some into her own next year when she's a bit older

    Which Camera

Canon EOS 350D - 8 mp, 3frames persecond, and can sustain a burst of 14 shots (Canon figures, I've had up to 39 - depending on jpeg setting) Although the 300d is a cracking camera too - 6mp, 2.5 fps, burst of 4 pics. Either one will let you print to A3 without too much trouble, when you get a good shot. I use both for my part-time business (glamour photographer) and supplying picture libraries, which require 50mb files. One of these with a GOOD lens - no use buying a geat camera to use shitty glass - thats just as important.
  16. A mate from work has been into airgunning for ever and a day, but was interested in what I do with the dogs and the stinkers. So, I've taken him out lamping a few times lately, but he has been really keen to go ferreting. Today was THAT day. We decided to watch a dvd before going out, that way the ground could thaw a bit to allow the dogs a bit of a run (hopefully). After 4 1/2 hours we only had 5 bunnies to show for our efforts. Sadly 3 had myxi . But my mate is now hooked. He was buzzing all day, wants to go back out tomorrow.
  17. Had an HW77 and it was bloody great! As mentioned, a bit heavy for some - but at 6' 1" and 16 stone, not a major hassle - then a 'mate ' 'borrowed' it and never saw it again :realmad: My HW95K is cracking though. Powerful, accurate and the muzzle weight helps for long range shots too. In my opinion, if it's got 'HW' at the start, you won't go far wrong. (Saying that, I'm tempted to get a BSA lightning for using in my mobile, 4 wheel, portable hide    )
  18. If ever anyone needs encouragement to get into our sport - just show them these pics. Spot on

  20. My deepest sympathies, Ian. Words can never make up for your loss, but we're thinking of you
  21. Absolutely mate. They never judge you, never question you and don't mind if you come home at 3am stinking of cheap perfume :11: When my first wife gave me the choice between her and my only lurcher, I was reminded of the words of a wise old man - "Son, you can always find another woman... it's just a wee bit harder finding a good dog" Along came wife no. 2 - now got 3 lurchers. Things do get better mate.
