Sorry to hear that sad news, happy hunting old lady
  8. OMG there little beauties enjoy them as much as i enjoy mine
  9. Is the hob showing any signs of slowing down hormone wise ? one of mine has already come out of season so its possible yours is on the way out
  10. Mine have lived in a similar hutch with the same bars for over a year and havent escaped I have small Jills too.... I'm not saying dont put the mesh, no harm in doing so but in my experiance it dosent need it. H&J I have had jills escape from out of cat carriers the inch square metal fronts, so i think the lads done right putting a layer of mesh on, its beter to be safe than sorry

    Bloody hot here

Scoobs i always knew you were hot stuff  it was hot enough to wear me shorts here yesterday & its forcast to get hotter still as the week goes on i love the heat it does things to me Dont think i could cope with 50 degrees though
  12. Well my pair had massive balls a month ago & one of them is virtually out of season, the other has a shrunken pair now from the longest day forward we loose an hour a month daylight, so basically they will slow down over the next month or two
  13. Both my hobs have lost weight & coat condition during this last few months but they have now moulted & seem to be putting on a little weight, there also nearly out of season as well, so hopefully yours is just the same a seasonal thing
  14. Personally i dont like collars they can be killers, a ferret who is left with a collar on unatended can risk climbing & getting the collar caught in something & maybe found dead, i dont like to see cats with collars on either for the same reason, I dont walk my ferrets as there are far to many dogs around this place & obvioulsy they dont all behave well round ferrets i have seeen ferrets killed by dogs at shows , its a joint responsibility thing at the end of the day , just my opinion of course Get them microchipped rather than use a collar & id tag
  15. oh its gross it dont float my boat
  16. It looks a nice sturdy hutch frank, better than the crap our pet shop sells once the weldmesh has been added it will be great Pass on my good luck wishes to the lad when he gets his ferrets & i am sure you will school him well in the future
  17. Hi thanks for outlining the problems you have in Denmark, you mention the breeding of ferrets who are predisposed to deafness , is that because of there colouring, ie the predominantly white ferrets, heads especially (not albino)

    Poorly Kit

The only thing i can think off is oteodystrophy a condition brought on by feeding meat rich in muscle rather than whole cadaver, it apparently show up in kits between the ages of 6 & 12 weeks old
  20. Blimey can i come and live there its a bit posh i hope you have many years of fun with your ferrets , good luck
  21. It could be an alergy to something in the house, if he is sound other than the odd sneezing fit it cant be anything to bad, just keep an eye on the ferret & take it to the vets if it gets worse
