This post is amazing and one of the few on here recently that i make a point of checking up on. I'm fairly lucky i guess, i hunt over every terrain available, i cover many many farms, the area i hunt, you may have heard of, it's all mine, i do share it with a couple of other like minded folk, it's called Northumberland........ ....... Give me a shout i've plenty of land to go about, just dont get caught and you'll be fine.........

Don, i must admit when i first started to read this post, you did seem to offer yourself up for a slating, but after reading your other comments, it dont seem so bad and yep this post does seem to have come down on you, other than blackbob! Personally what i'd be interested in seeing is the rear view of the picture with both dogs on the rabbit..... .... it looks to me to be a biggish size field from the pic and i wonder what a 'healthy'? rabbit would be doing so far from home........ ..... the only ones i've ever found like that have been dropped for action shots......... :whistle: :whistle

I'd stay well clear of the RSPCA mate, i worked on a yard for a while which took horses from the RSPCA that had been removed from the owners whilst they prepared evidence for prosecution. 7 or 8 out of ten cases were f****d up because they hadn't provided sufficient evidence to secure a conviction, the state some of these animals were in should've been evidence enough to stop the pricks owning animals and yet time after time the owners would come to the stables and take back there animals, all because these wankers cant do there jobs properly. The bitch that i've just got rid of wouldn't retrieve, in the house or out on walks she'd retrieve balls, sticks, socks anything you name it she'd bring it back and place it in your hand or in your lap. She'd do 40 foot retieves outta the sea and she'd do all of this as long as you'd keep throwing things. Perfect i thought, i've got this whole retrieving thing pegged, took her out and it was all forgotten, she'd run around with it in her mouth, kill it and leave it, i tried everything imagineable with this bitch and nothing worked, so now she lives a life on me sisters sofa, lazy twat. I dont particularly believe that southern deers and northern deers are faster or slower than the others, but i do think that the way they run and the numbers to be found will differ. As i said before there is nowhere near the same numbers of people out down south, dont get offended, i aint saying that makes the south any less knowledgeable about dogs, it just means that that could be the reason why as JD says there are deer in every wood, believe me there is, and as also previously written you'll walk all day here and still might not see owt........

Loki, whereabouts down south are you? i come from down south and there were more deer roaming around than we knew what to do with, we took deer everytime we ran them down there, up here in the north east i've ran only six last season and had one. Now the dog i have now is by far better than what i had back then, so is it a case of the deer are faster where you live or is it a case that in the north east lurcherwork is more common and therefore the deer have more experience of our 4 legged friends.......?
