  1. What a surprise you must have got there, mate ? & not a good one ! just shows the dangers, if those 'marbles' (shaped as they are now),...were rolled down those holes (or dispensed with the applicator, actually , as they would be now) not long before, (a few days, for example) yous arrived (to do the job, properly lol) One of the local golf courses, had phostoxin at one time (or Talunex), & it was applied around mole activity, right round a 'green' embankment. But they started digging a drainage trench, round it at the bottom. They left a lad working at it, & he began to feel un
  2. Good discussion, above , from you all. Interesting to hear, about your individual approaches,to mole catching.
  3. Thanks, for that response. Very interesting.
  4. I wouldnt know,...but is there not an antidote to cymag poisoning ?,..cause i think i heard, theres NONE for aluminium phosphide ? ,....if them flasks of yours, still got tablets in them, then i dont doubt youd be careful ?,.....but bear in mind, THEM types of cannister ' back in the day' are ONLY sealed with that thin 'rubber layer' between bottle cap, and contents ! ?,....so i take it the rubber can start to perish, through time ? ( just something to think about, perhaps ?) Maybe Phil, or any other lads, can elucidate more ,on any of these points ?
  5. Hey, a hope theres still no any 'extra strong mints ' lingering in them wee cannisters ? ??,.......got to be careful, wi that stuff ! A think thats the time, were the ONLY 'application method' they advised for moles, (paper attached to flask, etc) was to scrape away the hill, & find the 'pop' hole, clear it out , & place tablet down shaft, then sealing the hole, etc,.....?,....NOT for me, that way,....was NEVER much good for mole control either, as alot will know ? & cause of its 'mode of action' (is that the term ?) an inhumane form of lethal control !
  6. just read this, after i responded above ?
  7. Nice, never seen that design , before. Would you know who made it ?
  8. ach...., its not really something a personally want,..a non target , in any trap ?,...but it is unusual,....& unlikely to happen again. Not had too much myself, over my 28 yr at it,...one bitch weasle, one colour mutation , mole (yellowish),...& thats it ! (hey , thats actually one of YOUR talpex copies, from France , is it ?,....thats if a have the RIGHT guy ?,..in that picture,...not a bad substitute, for the original, either ?) cheers.
  9. pulled this talpex from the ground, mole & above, a field vole, caught in the same end ?,..how did that happen ? ?
  10. a just bought a fair few, few week ago (rabbit snares) ,.....look very similar to these, & yours are 'weathered' already too,....(might have got a better deal off you,.. ? ? ?)
  11. Really ?,.... interesting that, thanks.
  12. The wee fen scissor, looks an earlier example, before they changed to their more standard, trigger ?,.....aye, probably didnt reach too many of the right folk,..you would imagine ?
  13. Aye, a get exactly what you mean,.....(well, until they introduce this 'birth control pill' or whatever, for the greys, maybe ? ? )
  14. As you say, how was the "questionaire", publicized ? & how widely were the Juby & Imbra, utilised,..presently, up to the ban ?,...also , when were they last manufactured ? Real shame, it seems no manufacturer looked into the possibility of producing them again,....or had it been explored ?
  15. Theres a guy on the web loves the scissors, & prefers them with the "curved/rounded jaws",...in fact he does a great amount of modifying his scissor traps (more than i ever observed, before !),....to the extent of widening the jaws, & curving the straighter legged ones, on a vice, himself, etc
  16. Never seen this one, with that trigger system ?,...looks a robust wee trap too,.
  17. Ah... hold on,....Spring Trap Approval Order ??? ?
  18. Eddie, thats interesting. So there was actually consultation, regarding said traps,.....& no real, reaction ?,....forgive ma ignorance , but what is STAO ?
  19. Mate, maybe, thats some sort of answer, to your question, i shared on my latest post , there ?
