  1. nightmare pal. made for a good read though
  2. yes mate it does make working them better and more pleasurable. nothing as bad as trying to work a skitty ferret. a well handled, well socialised ferret is a must. regular contact with humans and dogs, and a decent run (preferably with pipes e.t.c)to keep them fit
  3. true, but i wouldnt say this makes them work any better. doing this doesn't make a ferret enter as deep as possible, or turn a bottled rabbit so it will bolt. patience and experience
  4. not a bad start at all with kits bud. nice one. i know what you mean with the nets though. does your head in
  5. mine will be running behind my albino jill in oct/nov, my friends will be at it from mid sept
  6. There are definatly things you can do to make them work better . . . . . such as?
  7. i run my kits by october/november behind an experienced ferret, dont expect 2 much from them straight away though. as with anything experience and time is the key. ferrets will enter themselves basically. theres nothing you can do to make them work better. keep them fit and get them in the field and they will get the hang of it. best of luck
  8. if that was her only fault then why let her go?
  9. i guess i shouldnt ask if anyone near me is selling any then? lol
  10. sometimes, but the majority of our sets dont go above 20holes. its a good thing in a way because you know if you have left a net when you go to walk off and youve still got an elastic band on your wrist
  11. poly over nylon or hemp any day mate. slightly dearer but worth every penny. buy a couple and you will see
  12. give it 6month mate and there will be a litter 4 sale on here
  13. as stubby said. mine opened there eyes at 4week and 2days. albino have a slight pink colour behind there closed eyelids where as any others will be dark. you will see the difference in colour after a couple of week although it gets more pronounced as they get older mate
  14. my albino jills blind, all the others watch me round the front of the hutch, she leads nose first. never stopped her working though. she's the best ive got at the minute
  15. a decent sized court with a few pipes and a ramp in and they are fine
  16. i wrap an elastic band round mine to hold my nets and tent pegs together and shove them in a bag. i find that using thin nylon nets, no matter how much care you take, they always get tangled. thats why ive switched to poly. much much better material
  17. as long as it aint loaded (including a magazine in place, with or without pellets in) and its out of public view your fine
  18. lamp a couple up that were having a rattle before. also lamped a couple of ferrets up last week play fighting in a field
  19. wait till xmas and ask for one as a present?
  20. i wouldn't keep another male now ive had a bitch
  21. looks a nice bitch that pal. all the best with her
