  1. if your going to go out and buy one ten go for the mk3, then you wont have trouble getting parts if it breaks
  2. is there any more of you out there that dont bring your jills out of season?
  3. by the time you have done laying all your nets (thats if you can get in through the bramble and nettles), let the set rest, sent the ferret to work and dug out all the young rabbits, you might be lucky to get a couple of small sets done. i myself dont ferret summertime for these reasons if i can help it, but i have and i'm sure it wont be the last time. i do prefer to leave them in peace if possible though, allthough popping a few 3/4 grown with the air rifle is good fun this time of year. less summer ferreting = more winter sport good luck with it if you do, and get some posts put up
  4. of course. fair play to everyone that does jab ther jill or put it with snipped hob. i'm just saying that i, aswell as many others dont. and with daily cleaning theres been no problems. anyway, each to their own and all........ must have caught me in a bad mood for me to bite jenks
  5. perhaps you have missed the season? give her while the end of august and see if she comes in then, as this should fit with the pattern.
  6. same as above pal. if i put my ferts in the dog run while i clean them out, then thats what they all do. nothing to worry about, if anything i would say its a good sign. your pup is exactly that, a pup. there going to want to play with there new friends just keep an eye on them and make sure they know not to get too excited with each other and all should be fine. thats all i did with the terriers and never even had a wrong look at the ferrets whilst in the field
  7. i would say there are other factors involved aswell. and as for the experts that dont like my view on the matter. one of you are telling me my jills will be lethargic, the other one that my jill will be skitting about her run and losing condition. maybe its just me but doesn't this contradict each of you? at least get your heads together before you jump on the bandwagon boys.........................
  8. you decided that your little smart comments werent called for then willueh? as soon as someone challenges your opinions you have nothing to say, not at least until you have googled it i suggest you stop preaching on here and sit back and try and listen to what other people have to say. if your unable to listen to other peoples opinions and stories, without calling them liars then you are in the wrong place! my way or the highway isnt what THL is about is it?? cap end
  9. do you know for a fact this is what happened? where the ferrets autopsied?? theres plenty of things that could show the same symptoms. and yes i agree they are more susceptible to infection, which is why daily cleaning is necessary, but to me this should happen anyway. like i said, my jills arent dead and i know plenty of others that arent, and never get brought out, nearly all of which do hit, or get close to double figures. edited to say am off to bed now so you can all have time to add your ten pence worth
  10. i would say to anyone that thinks a ferret that isnt brough out of season is distressed and loses condition are welcome to look at mine, i will try and get some good pictures up tommorow if you like?? na your wife no that good looking. thats a smart reply that mate what happened to your fountain of knowledge being passed on in another post? if you want to get personal when someone disagrees with you and you cant think of what to say thats fine. to me its just childish
  11. personally i would say leave her to come in naturally mate
  12. i would say to anyone that thinks a ferret that isnt brough out of season is distressed and loses condition are welcome to look at mine, i will try and get some good pictures up tommorow if you like??
  13. like i said i have known a fair few, so there must be more to it than luck ?? have you lost a jill through them being in season ? or do you do what most do and jump on the band wagon when it comes to having to do it or they will die?? not having a pop
  14. You been living on another planet? have you??? how many jills you lost through not taking them out of season??? how many people do you know that have ???? and what do you do when they come back into season after being with a v-hob??? mate them up again??? load of bollocks if you ask me mate. known ferrets reach double figures that have never been brought out, yet another money spinner for the vets if you ask me...................
