I posted a thread about this a couple of months back. it was all over my patch. However the last few weeks has seen very few left and the young coming through seem to be clean. Good job really as I was fed up trying to stop my dog eating rotten coprpses! Although it was good training for him to chase the half affected ones. Seems to come round every two/three years, I was hoping that the cold snap in Feb might have curbed it but apparently not. Filthy disease that should never been introduced. Its also worth putting an extra in line filter on. Depends what you mean by bio fuel. Recycled cooking oil or the stuff you get from the petrol station. I've run my 1997 TDI LR on recycled stuff for 5 years now. Get some cleaning gunk in the tank every 4 tanks or so and run normal diesel through it once in a while. Just got back from your fine country. A place in N.Wales called Dollg...... Oh I'm not even going to attempt it. In Snowdonia 'bout half an hour from Barmouth. We climbed mountains, drank, ran the dogs, drank, canoed, drank, shot rabbit and ate them, and oh yeah we had a few beers. The owner of the cottage however did ask us not to fly our flag as it may ofend a few of the more extreme nationalists and he didn't want his 300 yo cottage BBQd. Hey you should be greatful you got a letter. A polite one at that. I suggest that the letter was written so that the writer had a copy/proof of the fact that they had voiced their concerns. In which case, unless you adress the situation I fear that it will not be the last you hear of the issue. I don't wish to sound judgemental but in my opinion it was quite a long time to leave your dogs. I would suggest that you very politely apologise and suggest to them how you will make sure that they don't do it again. Good idea. It used to be that way. Unworkable today I'm afraid. The price of land has actually gone up considerably since the "Brown Bombshell". House prices drop so land prices tend to go up as people divert their money to areas where it will gain more on the rebound. Not always the case in all areas, there are many varying factors such as the use, location and local planning laws (ie likelyhood for future development) Cant speak for sporting land but a few folk I know who rent land for syndicates don't seem to be sufferring too much apart from the price of feed etc There are even three guys I know who pay to shoot rabbit on rented land! rgds
