My thoughts exactly, although people dying is sad we have to look after the rest of the population and our economy. We have to get back to work and normality for everyone's wellbeing, this lockdown is no good.
I was out for a walk this morning at 6am I spotted a vixen and 3 Cubs play fighting on the edge of some gorse, unfortunately not on my ground but phoned the guy who shoots that bit. He hadn't had any reports from farmer that they are a problem so will leave them for now ?
They will definitely dig out nests of young rabbits. One night whilst lamping I witnessed brock run past me with a full grown rabbit in its mouth , obviously dont know if it had found it or caught it ?
Alright if you can get paid to do something we enjoy. Personally I have always refused payment apart from the odd dozen eggs and lamb chops. Just glad to get the opportunity to shoot.
Always thought when big numbers are shot off one farm dumping is the reason. Doesn't happen up here , we just have natural population density not artificially Inflated numbers.
On our little rough shoot we wont be putting birds down but just filling the feeders and see what we get. Just good to have a day out with the lads and a few shots.
