    Then it was off to try for the other fox which had been spotted ? Entered field where it had been seen , a hand squeak and there it was in the far hedge . Kept calling and had it come in nice and steady , this time a vixen ? So a very successful night with both foxes targeted accounted for ??

    My mate had a report of a fox seen in a game cover on Tuesday and another spotted at the back of his place , so last night the plan was to target both of them. On arrival at the shoot if was raining heavy so sat in the motor for 1/2 an hour until it eased. Got set up on some bales and it started blowing a gale and peeing down again ? Vixen mating call was playing and it wasnt long before a fox was coming in from a long way out , followed it til it disappeared into the game crop and then reappeared at around 100 yds , a dog fox accounted for

    Whys that then, I have always been on shoots on Boxing day ,can't imagine doing anything else.

    That's my kind of day , 17 is my personal best but we haven't got massive amounts.Ive been stalking on a few estates down South and there was hundreds running about but noone seemed to control them , christ I would never be in ??

    Last night I went back to the squirrel farm to see if a fox had found the bait. I got set up with the wind in my face and caller between me and the wood. After playing vixen mating call for around 5 minutes a fox appeared behind me downwind ? got my wind and off it went. I switched the call to dog fox mating call and it came back but once again downwind and off it went. I therefore moved a couple of fields further over with the wind better this time and tried again but no sign this time.     That's the thing SL anyone can say they have shot a huge fox but have they actually weighed it. I am fanatical about records and when I first started shooting foxes used to weigh every one. A good dog was 16lb and vixen 14lb , a 20 lb fox is a heavy fox ? I think I have only had 3 over 20lb with the heaviest 23.5 lb .
